TravMedia USA LLC is pleased to announce the appointment of respected media and travel industry veteran, Kim Grant, to the position of Western Regional Manager, TravMedia USA, based in San Francisco.

 

Nick Wayland, CEO & Founder, said: “Kim's appointment comes at an exciting time in the development of our organization. Her invaluable industry experience, deep understanding of the media and passion for technology, makes her well placed to represent our company in the Western States”.

Kim's engagement comes 6-months after the appointment of Derek Valone, in the role of Manager, Business Development, based in Florida, and Joseff Betancourt, Vice President Technology, positioned in the New York headquarters, demonstrating the company's continued commitment to the U.S. market.

Biographical details

Kim Grant has worked in the travel-media space since the day after graduating college, the day she began writing her first travel guide.

Most recently (2009-2013) she was the Chief Content Officer for Sutro Media, the world's largest mobile platform for indie travel writers to publish app content pertaining to their areas of expertise. During that tenure Kim single-handedly vetted and assisted more than 450 superlative authors to create more than 650 apps to mega and niche destinations around the world. Along the way, Kim became an authority in, and highly regarded speaker about, mobile travel.

Over the years (1984-2014), Kim has written upwards of 45 guidebooks for major print publishers (including Lonely Planet, Frommer's, Fodor's, The Countryman Press, Chronicle, Insight, Berlitz, Discovery, and more). Kim was also a prolific stock and studio photographer (1987-2004) and widely published in all manner of print and online markets, from National Geographic Traveler to Travel & Leisure. She was a founding photographic member with Lonely Planet Images and is currently represented by Getty Images.

She also writes the most popular and respected mobile apps to Boston and Cape Cod, as well as the print Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard & Nantucket: An Explorer's Guide(the #1 guide to the region and in its 10th edition).
