Close to 130,000 visitors in total during four-month exhibition

(Macao, Oct. 7, 2014) – The Transformers 30th Anniversary Expo successfully concluded Sunday at The Venetian® Macao. A total of nearly 130,000 visitors enjoyed the highly popular exhibition over the course of its four-month run – an average of over 1,000 visits per day.

Co-organized by The Venetian Macao and FM Event, and supported by the Macau Government Tourist Office, the expo opened June 1, 2014, and celebrated the 30-year anniversary of the global Transformers phenomenon. Divided into 10 interactive zones, the exhibition showcased over 1,000 Transformers toys and fan collectibles from different eras as well as multiple giant Transformers statues, and featured the world debut of two-metre-high 3-D Transformers holograms, allowing visitors to experience the feeling of being next to a Transformer on their native world of Cybertron.

During the 18-week exhibition, crowds of Transformers fans visited The Venetian Macao, enjoying the unprecedented opportunity to experience the exciting world of the Transformers up close.

The integrated resort also took the opportunity to invite local children from the Macau Down Syndrome Association to visit the one-of-a-kind exhibition June 16, hosting 60 children and parents from the Association to enjoy the Transformers expo with 30 Sands China Care Ambassadors.

Adding to the excitement of having the expo in town, The Venetian Macao also hosted a VIP screening and star-studded red carpet event of the latest Transformers sci-fi action movie “Transformers: Age of Extinction” June 29 at The Venetian Theatre. More than 100 children and parents from the Macau Down Syndrome Association were invited to the celebrity-attended screening.

The summer exhibition is part of Sands China's strategy of bringing more family entertainment to Macao, and the company plans to continue bringing in exhibitions with different themes to draw more visitation to the city.
