The prestigious Roxburghe Hotel and Golf Course near Kelso has teamed up with Adventures Aloft, quality flight specialist, to provide the perfect experience for escapism allowing individuals to enjoy the beautiful Scottish Borders scenery. We are currently looking to invite travel journalists on a maiden voyage of the hot air balloon trips. The trip takes place on Saturday the 14th of April, time dependent on weather. The Roxburghe will also potentially supply complementary accommodation on the Friday or Saturday night depending on the coverage that will be given to the trip and the publications it will appear within.
From April onwards guests and locals alike may undertake a hot air balloon flight from the Roxburghe grounds followed by a special champagne breakfast on returning to the hotel.
The Roxburghe is renowned for its wealth of activities and country pursuits and from this spring will now provide a truly unique experience providing a birds eye view of the Roxburghe Estate and the surrounding countryside to include the rolling cheviot hills. Adventures Aloft a small, UK based, hot air balloon company caters for small groups of passengers with a maximum of six passengers and a minimum of four. The Roxburghe can therefore guarantee a more exclusive experience and allow for bespoke packages for any occasion.
Vouchers may be obtained by contacting the Roxburghe Hotel directly and include hot air balloon flights of approximately one hour duration, champagne served after landing, transport back to the hotel, breakfast from the hotels 'Celebrate the Flight' breakfast menu and an in flight photograph to keep as a memento of the special occasion. The package costs 195 per person with a reduced price for group bookings.
Enveloped by woodlands on the banks of the River Teviot and in the midst of the land of Sir Walter Scott, the Roxburghe Hotel and Golf Course is in prime location for escapism, indulgence and embracing the great outdoors. Owned by the Duke of Roxburghe, the hotel resides within the privately owned Roxburghe Estates on the outskirts of Kelso. The hotel stables have recently been converted in to deluxe courtyard suites to add that extra touch of luxury, many of which were designed by the Duchess herself. The hotel is easily reached within an hour of both Edinburgh and Newcastle.
