Planting a cocoa sapling, making beauty products featuring cocoa and sea moss along with tasting, making and cooking with chocolate are just some of the experiences on offer in the 2026 Grenada Chocolate Festival, 22-27 May.
The programme features tours, tastings and hands on workshops to help visitors gain a deeper understanding of the 'tree to bar' journey to transform cocoa pods on the tree into delicious chocolate and much more.
With the theme of Reimagining Caribbean Cocoa - From Roots to Renaissance, the festival is an invitation to visitors to explore the island's rich cocoa heritage, discover cutting edge cocoa innovations, and embrace the vibrant culture of Grenada's world-class chocolate industry.
Highlights for this year include:
PLANT YOUR COCOA ROOTS
Plant a cocoa sapling on the agroforestry cocoa farm run by the non-profit Cocoa Farming Future Initiative.
Proving that there is much more to cocoa than just chocolate, the visit to the farm also looks at cocoa fruit nectar that can be enjoyed as a juice or in cocktails as well as being used to make wine and vinegar.
TREE-TO-BAR WORKSHOPS
The Festival is the perfect opportunity to walk lush plantations, meet passionate farmers and learn the craft of turning cacao into artisanal chocolate.
Two of Grenada's top chocolatiers, Lylette Russell of Crayfish Bay Organics and Melisha of House of Chocolate will lead hands on workshops on:
- Bean to Bliss: Crafting Your Own Chocolate Bar using traditional techniques
- Filling, decorating and finishing bon bons
CHOCOLATE TASTINGS & PAIRINGS
Experts will help visitors develop their palates with tastings of exquisite single origin chocolate and curated pairings featuring local ingredients.
- A tasting of Grenadian rum, chocolate and spices combined with a chance to get hands on with mixology at the Pandy Beach House
- A Chocolate Origin Sensory tasting
- Spice & Spirit - a tasting of Grenadian rum and chocolate

- A workshop to experience sea moss and cocoa skincare and make a beauty product
- A half day at Mount Parnassus Plantation making wellness treats including exfoliating hand cocoa cleanse, a cocoa-infused candle, fruit and chocolate, whipped cocoa body butter, cocoa aromatherapy oils and cocoa soap making
- Pure Grenada Cocoa & Fragrance Experience - indulge tastebuds with cocoa tea tasting, making cocoa balls and take home a 'scent' of Grenada by making a personalised perfume
