Sydney's newest private members' club, The Pillars, has appointed globally experienced luxury hospitality executive Kieron Hunt as General Manager, marking a significant leadership milestone as the club continues to establish itself in its first year of operation.
With more than 25 years' experience across some of the world's most respected luxury hospitality and lifestyle destinations, Hunt brings a refined operational perspective and deep understanding of high-touch member service to the rapidly growing club.
His career spans executive leadership roles with globally recognised organisations including The Peninsula Hotels, The Murray Hong Kong, Shangri-La Group, InterContinental Hotels Group, Hilton and Australia's Ovolo Hotel Group.
Most recently, Hunt served within the Walker Group, where he applied his hospitality expertise across the commercial assets of the group's investment arm, while also undertaking a series of leadership secondments at the acclaimed private island resort Kokomo Private Island Fiji - one of the South Pacific's most prestigious ultra-luxury destinations.
Located within one of Sydney's most distinguished heritage buildings in the city's luxury retail and neighbouring financial district, The Pillars opened in 2025 as a contemporary private members' club designed for leaders across business, culture and the creative industries. Since opening, the club has quickly become known for its distinctive blend of refined hospitality, curated programming and discreet, high-level networking.
Hunt's appointment signals the club's commitment to world-class hospitality standards as it continues to evolve its membership offering and establish itself among the most sought-after private clubs in Australia.
Kieron Hunt, General Manager, The Pillars, says: “Private members' clubs occupy a unique space in hospitality. They are defined not simply by service, but by community, culture and trust. What attracted me to The Pillars is the opportunity to shape an environment where members feel a genuine sense of belonging while experiencing the highest level of hospitality and discretion.
“The club has already built extraordinary momentum in its first year. My focus is to deepen that experience - ensuring every interaction reflects the care, consistency and attention to detail that define the world's best private institutions.”
Hunt's leadership philosophy is grounded in stewardship, professionalism and service excellence. Throughout his career he has been recognised for building strong teams, fostering cultures of respect and integrity, and delivering operational precision across luxury hospitality environments.
Steve Grace, Co-Founder, The Pillars, adds: “Kieron's appointment marks an important moment for The Pillars as we move beyond our launch phase and continue to refine the experience for our members. His international perspective, operational depth and instinctive understanding of private club culture make him the ideal leader for this next chapter.”
With Hunt at the helm, the club will continue to expand its member programming, hospitality offering and cultural partnerships, reinforcing its ambition to become one of the most respected private members' clubs in the Asia-Pacific region.
