Belgravia Leisure Secures First PR Award at Mumbrella CommsCon 2026

Belgravia Leisure

Belgravia Leisure has taken home the win for Best Campaign with a Small Budget at the prestigious Mumbrella CommsCon Awards, marking the company's first ever award entry and win in a PR focused industry awards program.

The award recognises a PR campaign delivered on a budget of under $50,000, celebrating creativity, impact and smart use of resources. For Belgravia Leisure, the win represents a significant milestone in the organisation's growing communications capability and its commitment to telling meaningful stories about health, wellbeing and community connection.

This was the first time Belgravia Leisure had entered a PR industry-focused award, making the win particularly rewarding. Judged by senior communications leaders from across Australia and New Zealand, the Mumbrella CommsCon Awards are regarded as one of the industry's most respected benchmarks for excellence in public relations and communications.

The winning campaign centred on the closure and reopening of Hepburn Bathhouse & Spa during a major redevelopment, transforming a complex operational challenge into a national conversation through strategic PR, earned media and a creative partnership with Channel 9's The Block.

Working alongside Hepburn Shire Council, the communications approach helped keep the community informed and connected throughout the redevelopment while building anticipation for the venue's return. Despite a constrained budget, the campaign delivered widespread national exposure, strong business results and a renewed emotional connection with audiences.

Belgravia Leisure CEO Nick Cox said the award was a proud moment for the organisation and a reflection of the strategic role communications now plays across the business.

“This recognition is incredibly meaningful because it speaks to the strength of our strategy, not the size of our spend,” Mr Cox said. “We operate across leisure, sport and wellbeing venues where trust, reputation and community connection are critical. This award reinforces that when you invest in clear thinking, creative partnerships and purpose-driven storytelling, you can achieve outstanding results regardless of budget.”

Mr Cox also acknowledged Hepburn Shire Council and the Hepburn Bathhouse & Spa team for their collaboration throughout the redevelopment and campaign.

Traditionally known for its operational excellence across more than 260 venues in Australia and New Zealand, the award marks an important evolution in how Belgravia Leisure presents its work and impact to the wider community. It reflects a shift from simply delivering great outcomes on the ground to confidently sharing those stories with clarity and intent.

For Belgravia Leisure, this first PR award sets a new benchmark for the future and validates the organisation's continued investment in strategic communications. It also reinforces its position as a leader in the national conversation around health, wellbeing and the role of leisure in creating stronger communities.

The 2026 Mumbrella CommsCon Awards celebrate excellence, innovation and measurable impact across the communications industry, recognising excellence, innovation and impact across Australia and New Zealand's PR and communications industry.

Hepburn Bathhouse and Spa is owned by Hepburn Shire Council and managed by Belgravia Leisure, with the campaign delivered as a part of the partner's shared commitment to revitalising the historic community asset and driving visitation.
