After several months of intensive restoration, Zannier Bãi San Hô will once again open doors to welcome guests on 1 April 2026. The reopening follows the devastating impact of Typhoon Kalmaegi, which forced the property – widely regarded as one of Vietnam's most acclaimed luxury coastal destinations – to close late last year.
REOPENING OF ZANNIER BàI SAN HÔ
The storm caused significant damage across the country, including to the resort and its grounds, prompting a comprehensive recovery effort to return the property to its original design and operational standards. During the peak refurbishment phase, up to 200 workers were engaged onsite, undertaking a meticulous programme of works focused on craftsmanship, safety and preserving both the resort's original essence and the integrity
of the guest experience. The scale of the works extended across villas, public spaces and landscaped grounds, requiring a coordinated effort between skilled trades, artisans and the resort's operational team to ensure consistency at every level.
“Reopening after an event of this scale requires careful balance,” stated Arnaud Zannier, CEO and Founder of Zannier Hotels. “There is always a strong desire to welcome guests back as soon as possible, but in a luxury environment, every detail matters – particularly for the Zannier Hotels brand, which is founded on a principle of attention to detail and capturing the soul of a destination through the minutiae. Our priority has been to ensure the property returns at the level our guests expect, while also supporting our team and community through the recovery.”
“We are incredibly grateful to the hundreds of individuals who contributed to this process – from our construction teams and artisans through to our staff on the ground – whose commitment and care have been instrumental in reviving Zannier Bãi San Hô,” says Alain Bachmann, General Manager of Zannier Bãi San Hô.
COMMUNITY INTEGRATION AND SUPPORT
Set between rolling hills, rice paddies and a protected stretch of striking coastline in Đắk Lắk Province, the property's reopening comes as both it and the wider region continue to recover from the event.
Integral to Zannier Bãi San Hô is a deep connection to the surrounding community and broader Vietnamese culture, which informs everything from its architectural language and interiors to guest experiences. This ethos has remained central throughout the recovery, with restoration efforts aligned to the resort's longstanding approach of working with local craftsmen, sourcing regionally, and ensuring the property continues to reflect the cultural
richness of its setting.
Throughout the closure, the resort maintained a strong commitment to its team and surrounding communities. All employees were retained, providing stability for local staff, while 165 English language training sessions were delivered to support professional development. In the immediate aftermath of the storm, the resort also worked alongside regional border authorities to aid 100 local families through targeted donations and support.
Environmental restoration remains ongoing. The house reef located offshore will be formally reassessed in April following the rainy season, with long-term conservation partner SASA Marine Animals Rescue Centre returning to evaluate any damage and guide the next phase of the reef rehabilitation programme.
GUEST EXPERIENCES
All signature guest experiences will resume from 1 April 2026, including the resort's destination dining, wellness programming and curated cultural encounters designed to connect guests with the surrounding landscape and local communities. The reopening reflects a considered return, with a continued focus on delivering a high level of service while ongoing enhancements are completed across the property.
A SPECIAL OFFER FOR A MEANINGFUL ESCAPE
To celebrate the reopening, guests are invited to enjoy the “Pay 3, Stay 4” offer, available until 31 October 2026. For every three consecutive nights booked, one additional night is offered complimentary, along with 30 minutes of stand-up paddleboarding or water biking, and a refreshing mocktail. By choosing to stay, guests also contribute to supporting Đắk Lắk province and a broader vision of regenerative travel that honors both people and place.
