Kynren is adding a new layer to its storytelling this summer with the launch of The Time Travellers' Feast, a brand-new premium pre-show dining experience that allows guests to step into the world of Kynren before the performance begins.

Designed as the opening chapter of a full Kynren evening, the experience blends historic storytelling, theatrical encounters and generous shared dining before guests take their seats for the spectacular night show.

Hosted in the striking Arches Hall, the Feast transforms dinner into an immersive theatrical event ahead of Kynren – An Epic Tale of England, the award-winning live-action spectacular performed on a vast outdoor stage in Bishop Auckland.

Guests are welcomed by characters from across history and guided by torchlight and music to their tables, where an abundant three-course feast is served sharing-style to encourage conversation, conviviality and a sense of shared adventure.

The menu itself travels through the centuries. The evening begins with a Roman welcome cocktail, followed by a Tudor-style sharing starter, a hearty Viking feast for the main course and a Victorian dessert — all prepared by Kynren's in-house chefs.

Guests can expect generous platters served along long banquet tables — from rustic breads, flavoured butters and charcuterie inspired by Tudor dining halls, to flame-grilled meat skewers and seasonal roasted vegetables echoing Viking fire feasts, followed by Queen's tarts and other Victorian sweet treats to complete the journey through time.

Throughout the evening, characters from different eras appear among the tables, bringing moments of music, humour and spectacle that echo the scale and drama of the live show that follows.

The experience has been designed to feel like the opening chapter of the Kynren story.

Following the Feast, guests make their way to the outdoor tribune to experience Kynren – An Epic Tale of England, where a cast and crew of over 1,000 volunteers bring 2,000 years of British history, myth and legend to life.

The Time Travellers' Feast forms part of Kynren's expanding visitor experience in Bishop Auckland. From summer 2026, visitors will also be able to explore Kynren – The Storied Lands, a brand-new daytime park featuring spectacular live shows, immersive environments and historic storytelling throughout the day before the evening performance of Kynren – An Epic Tale of England.

Priced at £68 per person, The Time Travellers' Feast includes a Roman-inspired welcome cocktail, a three-course sharing feast, a glass of wine served with the main course and tea or coffee to finish.

The Time Travellers' Feast is a pre-show dining experience and must be booked in addition to a valid ticket for Kynren – An Epic Tale of England. The dining experience cannot be purchased on its own.
