Asia's 50 Best Restaurants, sponsored by S.Pellegrino & Acqua Panna, has announced this year's 51-100 list. The extended list is voted for by the Asia's 50 Best Restaurants Academy, a panel of 350-plus influential industry leaders including restaurateurs, chefs, culinary professionals, food writers and critics from across the region.

Notable insights from this year's 51-100 list:

  • This year's 51-100 list spans 27 cities – four more than last year – with 10 new cities represented in 2026. Of these, four are appearing on the list for the first time ever: Busan, Chengdu, Kanazawa and Nishikawa
  • 12 restaurants make their debut on the 51-100 list, reflecting the continued evolution and depth of Asia's dining scene
  • Seoul leads all cities with seven restaurants, including new entry San (No.54), while Busan makes its debut in the ranking with Fiotto (No.99)
  • Five restaurants in Bangkok appear on the list, while Singapore and Hong Kong each claim four, with all three destinations welcoming a re-entry
  • Tokyo records three restaurants on the extended list, including new entry Sushi Shunji (No.63), while Kanazawa welcomes two new entries – Kataori (No.82) and Respiración (No.92)
  • Nishikawa also celebrates the debut of Dewaya (No.93), underscoring the diversity of culinary excellence across multiple Japanese cities

New entries to the 51-100 list are often an indication of rising talent and shifting dining trends across the region. This year's extended ranking features 12 new restaurant entries and representation from 27 cities, four more than last year. In 2026, the list also sees the return or addition of 10 cities not represented in 2025, including four cities making their debut: Busan, Chengdu, Kanazawa and Nishikawa. The selection underscores the diversity and dynamism that define gastronomy across Asia.

Seoul leads all cities with seven restaurants on the extended list. Newcomer San, this year's One To Watch Award winner, is ranked at No.54. Busan in South Korea makes its debut with Fiotto (No.99), a humble Italian restaurant run by a husband-and-wife team specialising in organic, sustainable produce from the family farm, including house-made pasta, cured ham and kombucha vinegar, alongside seasonal vegetables and fruits.

Tokyo's tally of three restaurants underlines the extraordinary culinary inspiration continuing to emerge from the city. New entry Sushi Shunji (No.63) sees chef Shunji Hashiba, who studied with famed sushi chef Takashi Saito, now crafting Edomae-style sushi in his distinctive way.

In Kanazawa, two new entries join the ranking – Kataori (No.82) is hailed as a kaiseki restaurant of the future, while Respiración (No.92) lives up to its name, leaving guests breathless with cuisine created by three life-long chef friends, inspired by Ferran Adrià's El Bulli. Further west, Nishikawa debuts with Dewaya (No.93), an historic ryokan dating back to 1929 in the mountains, now finding renewed recognition through chef Haruki Sato's seasonal cooking with an emphasis on mountain vegetables (sansai).

Joining Beijing's all-private-rooms restaurant Chef 1996 at No.52, which ranked highest among all new entries on the 51-100 list, are two other new entrants: Fumée in Shenzhen (No.65), where chef Reina Chen integrates hybrid Chinese-French fusion cuisine around the new concept of 'glocal' cuisine, blending global and local influences. Similarly, but with only five tables, homely Co- in Chengdu (No.69) presents multicourse tasting menus marrying seasonal produce with novel recipes conceived from the chef's extensive travels.

Meanwhile, Taipei's new entrant Silks House at No.64 is distinguished by Hong Kong chef Max Wo's refined Cantonese cuisine paired with local produce at Regent Taipei. Singapore records notable movement on this year's extended list, with Thevar (No.58) climbing 12 places from No.70 in 2025, marking one of the most significant upward moves in the ranking. Peach Blossoms (No.78) also returns to the 51-100 list.

In Bangkok, Haoma (No.96) makes a welcome re-entry, reinforcing Bangkok's continued presence as a dynamic force in the region's dining landscape. Dewakan (No.62) in Kuala Lumpur records the highest rise on this year's extended list, climbing 22 places from its previous ranking under chef Darren Teoh's continued exploration of indigenous Malaysian ingredients.

Newcomer Papa's in Mumbai (No.66) also joins the list – an intimate, convivial 12-seater counter restaurant – where chef Hussain Shahzad presents a tasting menu that explores playful, contemporary interpretations of Indian flavours. Nudging into the No.100 spot, new entry Celera in Makati City joins Toyo Eatery (No.71) in Manila, with a highly personal and intimate style of contemporary cooking shaped by the chef's own ideas and influences from Asian flavours.

A spokesperson for Asia's 50 Best Restaurants says: “We are delighted to unveil this year's 51-100 list, welcoming more outstanding establishments into this year's extended ranking. The 51-100 list once again highlights the incredibly diverse and thriving culinary scene of the region, this year including restaurants from 27 cities, with 12 restaurants represented on the Asia's 50 Best Restaurants list for the first time.”

The 2026 list of Asia's 50 Best Restaurants will be revealed at the awards ceremony held on 25 March 2026 in Hong Kong, in collaboration with host destination partner Hong Kong Tourism Board. The awards ceremony will also be streamed live on the 50 Best YouTube channel, beginning at 20:00 Hong Kong time.
