Drovers

London, Feb 2026: The Massey Partnership are delighted to be working with Drovers' Hill, a unique luxury glamping experience on the historic Stonor Estate near Henley-on-Thames.

Drovers' Hill offers two handcrafted shepherds huts designed to complement the landscape and provide expansive 360-degree views of verdant parkland and distant Chiltern Hills. Rooted in rural heritage, each hut delivers a distinctive and memorable stay with thoughtful touches throughout.

Set on the brow of the hill above Stonor House, Drovers' Hill offers a bucolic escape that promises a break from the noise and bustle of the day to day. Surrounded by ancient woodlands and meadows of the private estate, guests have unbeatable views across the valley.  Early risers are often treated to deer grazing quietly in the misty meadowlands as the sun rises through the ancient tree line, and red kites circle overhead. Evenings bring cooking over the firepit under velvet night skies, enjoying star gazing and keeping an ear out for owls on their evening patrols.

There are two Shepherds Hut to choose from, both sleeping two in absolute comfort.

  • Redwood celebrates the deep hues and warmth of timber from a Giant Redwood tree felled within Stonor Park. This traditional black tin hut features elegant interiors, a king-sized bed and a very cosy atmosphere.
  • Quercus ( the Latin name for 'oak tree') offers classic country charm with a handcrafted oak four poster bed, a well-appointed kitchen, ensuite bathroom and comforting modern amenities designed for year-round comfort.

Both huts are insulated with sheep's wool to keep the evening chill at bay and include fully equipped kitchen areas, outdoor firepit and barbecue facilities. Sustainable toiletries from Commune and 100 percent green energy provided by Ecotricity ensure an eco-friendly stay in the countryside.

The Shepherds Huts come stocked with complimentary fresh Lacey's Family Farm organic milk and butter, locally baked bread, Grind coffee. free range Stonor Park eggs, apple juice from the 15th Century gardens. From April-September guests can also book to have their Hut fully stocked with meals by Stonor's chef Salvatore di Giacaomo, along with award-winning Nettlebed Creamery cheeses, Hundred Hills Winery sparkling wine and more.

There is a plethora of great pubs within an hour's walk (or much faster on wheels!) including The Cheese Shed in Nettlebed, The Golden Ball in Stonor through to fine dining at Raymond Blanc's Manoir aux Quat Saison or Tom Kerridge's Michelin-starred Hand & Flowers in Marlow. But we think a short meander down the valley to Stonor's much loved Pizza oven is an unbeatable option!

Whilst staying at Drovers' Hill guests can relax to a slower pace of life enjoying stargazing, birdsong, cycling and taking to the footpaths for countryside walks right outside their door. Cultural experiences abound with historic Stonor House and its gardens, and the nearby market town of Henley-on-Thames, known for riverside walks, independent shops and artisanal food. For those seeking additional wellness, the RESET Wild Spa residency is open from July-September, offering sauna, ice baths and relaxation settings nestled in nature.

Whether you're looking for a peaceful retreat, a romantic adventure or a memorable escape to nature, Drover's Hill offers a unique, immersive experience in the heart of rural Oxfordshire.
