ATFAC Marks 25 Years of Empowering Indonesia's Children Through Education and Opportunity

Accor

A Trust For A Child (ATFAC), Accor's corporate social responsibility initiative in Indonesia, celebrates its twenty-fifth anniversary. Founded by Accor Indonesia in 2001, and operated by "Yayasan Peduli Tunas Bangsa", ATFAC has dedicated itself to empowering underprivileged children through comprehensive, long-term support. Its core pillars include educational assistance, health aid, and life skills development, all designed to foster sustainable growth and brighter futures for its beneficiaries. What began as a visionary commitment has evolved into a sustained program that continues to transform lives across Jakarta and Bali.

The significant milestone is celebrated with a heartwarming gathering at the Mövenpick Hotel Jakarta City Centre. Held during the holy month of Ramadan, the event brought together a diverse group of stakeholders who have been instrumental in ATFAC's journey, including foster children, program alumni, Sanggar (learning center) administrators, mentors, as well as general managers and human resources leaders from Accor hotels in the Greater Jakarta area. This special occasion, marked by a spirit of reflection, gratitude, and togetherness, underscored the collective impact and shared purpose that has driven ATFAC for a quarter of a century.

Today, ATFAC supports 69 foster children, 40 children in Cipinang, Jakarta's House of Learning (Sanggar), and 29 children in Bedugul, Bali's House of Learning, spanning elementary to university levels. Through scholarships, tutoring programmes, nutritional support, counseling, and social assistance, ATFAC provides holistic care that extends beyond academics, fostering confidence, resilience, and independence.

Over the past 25 years, ATFAC has proudly graduated 96 students, including bachelor's degree holders in social work, medicine, and hospitality. Many alumni have built successful careers, as hoteliers, nurses, teachers, civil servants, engineers, banking professionals, and IT specialists.

Reaching 25 years of ATFAC is a meaningful milestone for all of us at Accor. Through education and sustained support, we are not only opening doors of opportunity for children, but also helping to shape confident, capable individuals who will contribute positively to their communities. Celebrating this anniversary reminds us that true hospitality extends beyond our hotels, it is about caring for people and creating lasting impact where it matters most.” said Garth Simmons, Chief Operating Officer, Premium, Midscale and Economy Division, Accor Asia.

As ATFAC steps into its next chapter, the programme remains steadfast in its mission: to empower children through education, care, and opportunity, ensuring that every child is given the foundation to dream, to grow, and to thrive independently. For 25 years and beyond, ATFAC continues to stand as a living testament to the power of collective kindness, proving that when a community comes together, brighter futures are possible.
