Tokyo will transform in March 2026 into a living canvas of creativity as TOKYO CREATIVE SALON 2026 (TCS2026) returns from Friday 13 March to Sunday 22 March 2026.

Now in its seventh year, Japan's largest creative festival will unfold across nine of Tokyo's most iconic districts, Marunouchi, Nihonbashi, Ginza, Akasaka, Roppongi, Shibuya, Harajuku, Shinjuku and Haneda, inviting visitors to experience the city itself as a stage for fashion, design, art, craft and technology. Free and open to the public, the 10-day festival coincides with the start of Tokyo's celebrated cherry blossom season.

Since launching in 2020, TOKYO CREATIVE SALON has evolved into a dynamic, city-wide creative week that showcases Japan's world-class talent while drawing global attention. The most recent edition welcomed more than 1.25 million visitors, cementing its reputation as one of Asia's leading cultural events.

2026 Theme: “FUTURE VINTAGE”

The 2026 theme, “FUTURE VINTAGE,” explores how the memories, craftsmanship and culture embedded within Tokyo can be reinterpreted through contemporary perspectives and carried forward into the future. From cutting-edge installations to immersive exhibitions and collaborative projects, TCS2026 will present ideas that connect generations, blending heritage with innovation in uniquely Tokyo fashion.

Hiroshi Ohnishi, Chairman of TCS2026, said the festival reflects a global movement among major cities to strengthen cultural identity through creativity. “Across the world, cities are strengthening their cultural value by bringing creators and communities together. TOKYO CREATIVE SALON is an initiative to showcase Japan's world-class creativity with Tokyo as the stage. Under the theme 'FUTURE VINTAGE,' we seek to connect the city's accumulated culture and memories to expressions that resonate into the future.”

Executive Director Satoshi Sugiyama added that Tokyo's layered identity makes it an unparalleled setting for creative exploration. “Tokyo is a city where layers of creativity have been built up over time through people, places, and diverse cultural influences. With TOKYO CREATIVE SALON, we reinterpret these layers through contemporary perspectives and transform the city itself into a space for creative expression. 'FUTURE VINTAGE' reflects our intention to revisit the memories embedded in Tokyo and shape new forms of creativity that will be carried forward into the future.”

For travellers seeking immersive cultural experiences, TOKYO CREATIVE SALON offers a rare opportunity to experience Tokyo beyond the expected, where historic streets meet avant-garde design, and centuries-old craftsmanship sits alongside bold new ideas. Set against the backdrop of spring blossoms, the festival highlights Tokyo as a global capital of creativity and innovation.
