Families visiting Fort Myers now have another reason to head to its barrier islands, following the opening of Captiva Landing at South Seas Resort. Located on the southern end of Captiva Island, Captiva Landing is a vibrant new water attraction designed to bring generations together through shared experiences, relaxed recreation and island-inspired fun.
Spanning more than 2.5 acres, the freshwater attraction is exclusively available to registered resort guests and Club Captiva owners. It forms part of South Seas' ongoing revitalisation, enhancing its growing collection of family-focused amenities while offering something for all ages.
The new attraction features several distinct zones that balance adventure with downtime. These include Bottlenose Bay, a playful splash area with six water slides, tipping buckets and water cannons; the Gulfstream Lazy River, ideal for a scenic float beneath palm trees; and The Cove, a calm space for poolside relaxation. Families can also enjoy casual dining at Flippers, a retro-style arcade, and Camp-tiva – a nature-based kids' club offering hands-on ecological activities within the resort's wildlife preserve.
“South Seas has always been a place where generations of families come together to create memories,” said Shawn Farrell, general manager of South Seas. “With Captiva Landing, families have the freedom to explore at their own pace, whether that's racing down slides, floating the lazy river, or simply enjoying time together in a relaxed island setting.”
Captiva Landing joins other recent additions at the resort, including new dining venues, reinforcing South Seas' evolution while honouring its 75-year legacy as a much-loved family destination. Together, these developments further strengthen Fort Myers' reputation as a diverse, family-friendly holiday choice on Florida's Gulf Coast.
