While usually known for offering one of the best views out over the Paris skyline, the gaze has turned to Hôtel Dame Des Arts itself after its rooftop terrace was featured in the latest series of Emily in Paris. Fan-favourite Alfie's scene in Episode 10 gives viewers an insight into why the hotel is so representative of the dynamic heritage of the city's Latin Quarter, and the ideal base to explore this storied neighbourhood as we step into spring.
Located in the heart of the Left Bank's creative Latin Quarter, Hôtel Dame Des Arts offers guests a front-row seat to a neighbourhood that became a vibrant hub for arthouse cinema post-WWII. Cinemas like Le Champo and Cinema du Pantheon embraced the French Nouvelle Vague movement in its spiritual birthplace. The movement served as the inspiration for award-winning interior designer Raphael Navot's transformation of the 1950s building when it opened as Hôtel Dame des Arts in 2023, including its signature scent and cinema. The intimate cinema room regularly hosts curated events and can be hired for private screenings by guests.
“Raphael Navot looked at how we could portray the values of Nouvelle Vague cinema, its freedom and authenticity, in the hotel experience” says Matthieu Bernard, General Manager at Hôtel Dame des Arts. “His design encourages a flow between areas in the same way films of this genre favoured genuine storytelling over structure. The movement between our lobby, garden, restaurant, rooftop and rooms is very natural, with a lived-in feel that creates a welcoming space for our guests as they step off the streets of Paris and into the Hôtel Dame des Arts scene.”
As one of Paris' most walkable neighbourhoods, guests can explore Paris with ease from the hotel's doorstep. The Latin Quarter's compact streets, cafés, bookshops and galleries make it one of Paris' most rewarding neighbourhoods to wander and explore. Notre-Dame Cathedral, famed bookshop Shakespeare and Company, the banks of the Seine, the Jardins du Luxembourg and famed restaurants are all just a short stroll away.
As days get warmer and longer the hotel's outdoor spaces also come into their own. Beyond the rooftop terrace, which transforms into a sought-after bar in the summer months, the hotel's courtyard garden provides an inviting oasis for a morning coffee, afternoon pause, evening drinks and dinner.
Rooms at Hôtel Dame Des Arts start from £246 per night for a Classic room including breakfast. For more information visit www.damedesarts.com.

About Hôtel Dame des Arts:
Hôtel Dame Des Arts is a four-star Parisian gem, inaugurated in 2023 and a proud member of Preferred Hotels & Resorts. Designed by interior architect Raphael Navot, this charming retreat embodies the essence of the Left Bank. Located in the heart of the arts and literary district, the hotel showcases a graphic signature that pays tribute to iconic Paris. Blending nonconformity with elegance, its design draws inspiration from the legendary artists of the Left Bank - philosophers, musicians, writers, and night owls - to create a unique atmosphere reminiscent of a Nouvelle Vague film set. Housed in a 1950s building, shielded from the city's bustle, the hotel seamlessly combines a warm, intimate garden on the ground floor with its stunning rooftop bar overlooking the Parisian skyline. www.damedesarts.com
