18 Dec 2025
December 2025: .Here Baa Atoll Maldives has officially opened Somewhere Island, welcoming its first guests on Monday 15 December. Located in the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve of Baa Atoll, the opening marks the first phase of the resort’s ultra-exclusive private island concept, with the second island, Nowhere, scheduled to launch in Q1 2026.
With just nine private residences across two natural islands, .Here introduces a new vision of Maldivian luxury defined by intimacy, imagination and highly personalised experiences.
“.Here embodies a refined vision of exclusivity in the Maldives,” says Gregor Gerlach, Co-owner of Seaside Collection. “By seamlessly integrating bespoke hospitality with thoughtful design, we have created a sanctuary that invites discerning travellers to engage deeply with the natural beauty and tranquillity that define this extraordinary destination.”
Somewhere Island: Now Open
Somewhere Island features seven expansive private residences, each combining beachfront and overwater living in a single, flowing design. Highlights include suspended sky infinity pools of up to 47 metres, generous indoor-outdoor living spaces and uninterrupted sunrise-to-sunset ocean views.
Every stay is supported by a dedicated Roohu (butler) service, with experiences curated entirely around the guest - from private dining and tailored excursions to in-residence wellness treatments. Guests also enjoy access to selected amenities at neighbouring Finolhu, a Seaside Collection Resort, offering a balance of seclusion and vibrant island life.
“.Here started as a very personal idea - something imaginative and deeply intimate,” says Anouchka Gerlach, Co-owner of Seaside Collection. “Seeing Somewhere Island open and welcome its first guests is incredibly special. It’s about creating a genuine connection with the surroundings, with yourself, and with the moment.”
Culinary Vision Led by Executive Chef Georgios Vasilopoulos
At the heart of .Here’s gastronomic experience is Executive Chef Georgios Vasilopoulos, who will draw on his near 20 years working at prestigious international hotels – such as Badrutt’s Palace and Raffles Dubai - to shape the epicurean identity across both Somewhere and Nowhere islands.
At Safar, the resort’s restaurant and bar, Chef Georgios will serve an array of thoughtfully created dishes where globally-inspired techniques meet the flavours of the Indian Ocean. Elsewhere guests can expect private in-residence tasting menus and memorable dining experiences under the stars, all drawing on the natural bounty of the Baa Atoll Biosphere Reserve.
Looking Ahead: Nowhere Island
Set to open in Q1 2026, Nowhere Island will be available for complete private buy-out and will feature two exceptional residences, including the five-bedroom Presidential Residence, alongside Fehi Wellness, the resort’s fitness centre and additional water sports facilities.
“.Here is not about scale or spectacle; it is about intimacy, intention and emotional connection,” says General Manager Steven Phillips. “With the opening of Somewhere Island, guests can finally experience a place where every detail is personal and every moment feels entirely their own.”
Designed by Kulör Group, with interiors by award-winning British studio Muza Lab, .Here blends sustainable architecture with natural materials and panoramic views, creating spaces that feel both refined and deeply connected to the Maldivian landscape.
.Here Baa Atoll Maldives is reached via a scenic 30-minute seaplane flight from Velana International Airport, Malé.
