The Yan, a 17th-century converted sheep farm on the edge of Grasmere village, has seven boutique bedrooms, five cosy self-catering cottages sleeping up to five people, two gorgeous glamping pods, and an award-winning Scandi-chic, ski lodge-inspired bistro.

Swathed in the hillside, fell walks from the door call out to be bagged with no less than 10 Wainwrights all within a stone's throw away. Plan adventures with the help of the Yan's custom route maps, complete with waterproof case and compass, before being warmly welcomed back at the bistro with a steaming mug of hot chocolate or something a little spicier.  

The Yan's cosy cottages are straight out of a festive rom-com with centuries-old charm and character combined with extra-thoughtful touches and modern-day luxury. Inside the bistro, the boutique-style rooms are bright and comfy with ensuite shower rooms, uber-soft fluffy towels, and luxury natural toiletries.

New Year's Eve celebration packages consist of a luxurious three-night escape with full, hearty, fell-ready Yan breakfast each morning, a spectacular seven-course tasting menu on New Year's Eve (plus the option of expertly paired wines), and a celebratory glass of fizz at midnight to toast in 2026 while enjoying a bird's-eye view of Grasmere's fireworks.
