The Other House

The Other House, the pioneering group of Residents Clubs redefining hospitality for the modern traveller, has unveiled its new Autumn collection of uniforms created in collaboration with renowned British designer James Lakeland. The uniforms perfectly reflect The Other House ethos that its team should feel as beautifully dressed as their most stylish residents.

The bespoke pieces, curated exclusively for The Other House by its interior design team, TOHID, in conjunction with James Lakeland and his Italian couture studio, will be launched at The Other House South Kensington in December ahead of the brand's growth.

This collaborative collection marks the first hospitality partnership for James Lakeland since the brand was founded in 1992, and the third time he has created a menswear range following collections with Harrods and Ede & Ravenscroft.

Reflecting The Other House's signature style of British maximalism which is bold, layered and full of personality, the new uniforms are a sartorial expression of the brand's values, and every detail tells a story.

The collaboration introduces a series of statement pieces, inspired by the unique spirit of The Other House's specially commissioned illustrations, which are already in play across all its story telling both in its interiors and resident facing collateral.

Teal and flame coloured Owl & Monkey themed blazers and waistcoats bring to life the playful aesthetic behind the brand's signature bar, incorporating the whimsical wallpaper motif that embodies its mantra: “wise as an owl, curious as a monkey.” Elsewhere, tailored black velvet jackets are elevated with subtle Owl & Monkey detailing, balancing structure and individuality with a refined finish.

For warmer months, this design evolves into kimono-style wrap shirts, offering a lighter, elegantly relaxed silhouette, echoing the layered design language found throughout The Other House.

Complementing these statement styles, the exclusive private members club, The Club at The Other House, features black, ivory and gold velvet jackets and waistcoats. Using an intricate peacock feather design, inspired by one of the other fantasy illustrations commissioned by The Other House, this adds opulence and chic sophistication, echoing the exclusive environment.  All uniforms can be combined with a variety of specially designed satin blouses fit for the catwalk, camisoles and T-shirts, black pleated flared trousers, bootleg and narrow leggings.

Together, the collection reflects The Other House's commitment to design that is expressive, elevated, and unmistakably original.

A partnership built on shared values

The collaboration with James Lakeland was a natural fit. Known for his high-quality Italian craftsmanship, timeless tailoring, and commitment to durability and individuality, Lakeland brings a designer's precision to The Other House's world of characterful interiors and thoughtful details.

Like The Other House, James Lakeland champions independent British design, producing garments that combine modern flair with lasting quality. His approach to creating pieces that empower the wearer aligns seamlessly with The Other House's philosophy of self-expression and belonging.

The partnership also reflects an entrepreneurial meeting of minds: both brands are independently led, London-based, and deeply rooted in creativity and innovation. Having direct access to Lakeland's atelier and fabricators ensured each piece was tailored precisely to the needs of the team, combining form, function, and personality.

Naomi Heaton, CEO and Founder of The Other House, said “We wanted our uniforms to be as characterful and considered as our interiors; designs that our team could feel proud to wear. Working with James Lakeland has allowed us to achieve exactly that. His craftsmanship, extensive fashion industry connections, his bold approach to design, and eye for cut and texture mirror the essence of The Other House. These uniforms will be a unifying expression of who we are, confident, stylish, and unmistakably individual.”

James Lakeland, Designer, added “The Other House is a wonderfully creative brand with a strong sense of identity. I wanted the designs to capture that spirit, to be elegant but playful, luxurious but wearable. Every piece tells part of their story, and I'm thrilled to see it come to life across their beautiful houses.”
