Heritage Awali, Mauritius Reveals a Fresh New Chapter

Heritage Resorts

24 November 2025: Heritage Awali Golf & Spa Resort, located in the raw beauty of Mauritius' south coast has revealed a new chapter in its evolution with a resort refresh and enhancements in its guest experience.  Changes at the resort include a refurbished and repurposed Spa, a new category of Deluxe Beach View rooms and a rejuvenation of its popular Kids Club.

Guests will also notice a warmer service where they feel genuinely cared for. From personal experiences at the spa and dining venues to family connections at the Kids Club and immersion nature encounters, every moment is designed to feel personal and memorable. Rooted in the local culture and the natural beauty of Mauritius' south coast, the resort continues to inspire meaningful moments, where guests can relax, reconnect, and carry the memories of their stay with them long after their departure.

THE HERITAGE SPA & WELLNESS

At the heart of the gardens, the newly renovated Spa stands as the most striking transformation of Heritage Awali's refresh. Designed as a sanctuary in its own right, it blends open, airy spaces with the intimacy of lush, tropical surroundings.

Its 3,000m² layout unfolds like a journey. Couples can now retreat to open-air kiosks where the rhythm of nature sets the tempo. Brides preparing for their day may reserve a private lounge and enjoy a celebratory drink from the wellness bar. Families now have the option to share treatments together, creating a rare space for multi-generational relaxation. For others, the allure lies in moments of stillness – in the steam rooms, the vitality pool, or with a cup of herbal zest tea in hand.

The Spa's offering extends beyond treatments, with a hair and nail bar, a curated retail corner, and nourishing refreshments from the wellness bar to bridge the space between comfort and wellbeing. Signature rituals are tailored to the guest's own rhythm, ensuring that every visit lingers in memory long after departure.

REFINED SPACES, RENEWED LIGHT

The refresh extends across the resort's accommodation, with lighter textiles, softer tones enhancing a sense of calm and balance. The new category of Deluxe Beach View rooms, representing 28 keys, combine comfort with uninterrupted vistas of the lagoon, offering views to live for.

The exclusive Ulundi Villa, which is the resort's private beachfront residence, offers moments of privacy and connection.  Guests can enjoy the signature “Ulundi is Yours” experience, which includes a sunset couple's massage, Champagne, a private candlelight dinner, and a floating breakfast in their own pool - all crafted to create a unique personal experience.

The newly introduced Kizuri, meaning “delicious” in Swahili, brings a fresh approach to casual dining. It is a relaxed grab-and-go corner offering authentic Mauritian snacks and sweet treats, served throughout the day. Laidback, easy, local.

A LOCAL STORY AT THE KIDS CLUB

The Timomo Kids Club has embraced new colour, new energy, and a strong sense of place. Its walls are now alive with a vibrant mural by Guillaume St Flour, a young artist from nearby Baie du Cap. Inspired by Tikoulou, the beloved character of Mauritian childhood, his work brings local fauna, flora, and imagination into the heart of the resort, offering children a joyful connection to the island's culture.

This spirit of discovery continues beyond the Club. Every week, marine biologists from the Heritage Marine Education Centre guide young guests through the Yellow Submarine initiative, created with local NGO Reef Conservation, to nurture awareness of the fragile beauty of Mauritius' marine ecosystems.

THE PLAYGROUND OF BEL OMBRE

Families are invited to experience the Bel Ombre playground in all its richness: the timeless charm of Le Château de Bel Ombre, a 19th-century manor surrounded by French gardens and a living showcase of the island's history; and the Bel Ombre Nature Reserve, 1,300 hectares of preserved wilderness where waterfalls, endemic forests and wildlife open endless possibilities for adventure. These encounters reveal the depth of Mauritius' heritage and the joy of sharing it across generations.

Across the domaine of Bel Ombre guests have access to 13 restaurants, spanning multiple cuisines and ambiences. The culinary calendar includes year-round Michelin-starred dining experiences, making gastronomy a constant highlight of the Heritage Awali experience. Hidden within the Savana restaurant, the wine cellar invites intimate discovery, best experienced through the signature Whispers of the Cellar pairing journey.

Rates start from £396/room/night on an all-inclusive basis in January 2026 in a Deluxe Garden Room.
