Western Sydney has a new landmark. Cabravale Club Resort officially opened its doors with a celebration unlike anything the region has seen - a day and night of colour, culture and world-class entertainment marking the arrival of Australia's first integrated Club Resort.

The opening drew thousands of locals and visitors, who were treated to traditional lion dances, immersive live performances, a stunning drone display, dazzling fireworks and a special appearance by Guy and Jules Sebastian. The duo spoke about the life-changing impact of The Sebastian Foundation, and Guy surprised guests with an impromptu performance, including his hit Battle Scars.

The event capped a major, multi-year transformation that has reimagined the century-old Cabra-Vale Diggers as Western Sydney's premier destination for dining, entertainment, accommodation and events.

The festivities began with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony led by The Hon David Harris MP, Tri Vo MP and David Borger from Business Western Sydney, alongside Club leadership, dignitaries and community guests.

NSW Premier Chris Minns also shared his congratulations via video message, saying: “For more than a century, this Club has been a cornerstone of the community - a place where people gather, connect and support one another. It's wonderful to see this new resort officially open its doors, and I congratulate everyone involved in bringing this vision to life.”

Traditional dry fireworks, drums and eight dancing lions then ushered in a new era, before celebrations unfolded across the resort - including VIP dining at Magma by acclaimed chef-owner Dany Karam, immersive entertainment, an international saxophone act and live music throughout the day. As night fell, a spectacular drone show and fireworks lit up the Cabramatta skyline, signalling that Western Sydney has a destination to rival the city.

Boris Belevski, Chief Executive Officer, Cabravale Club Resort, said: “This opening is more than a milestone - it's a moment of pride for Western Sydney. Cabravale Club Resort represents a new era for our community: a place where people can stay, play and celebrate, right here in the west. We're showcasing what this region is capable of - ambition, energy and heart - and setting a new benchmark for hospitality in Australia.”

The resort's launch follows a milestone year for the Club, which celebrated its 100th anniversary in July with the unveiling of its new name and brand. For President Walter Robinson OAM, the occasion marked both reflection and renewal:

“Our founders were twenty returned servicemen who built this Club on values of service, courage and community. Those values remain at the heart of Cabravale Club Resort. We've honoured our past while building a future that the whole of Western Sydney can be proud of.”

Located in the heart of Cabramatta, Cabravale Club Resort is a destination that brings together:

  • Novotel Sydney Cabramatta - a stunning 140-room hotel with a resort-style pool, gym and event facilities.
  • Signature dining including Magma by Dany Karam, Bistro 1925, District 8, Horizon Asian dining and Poppy Café.
  • Cabravale Event & Conference Centre – One of Western Sydney's largest event and convention centres, with a 600-seat convention centre also scheduled to open.
  • Entertainment experiences designed to keep locals and visitors coming back for more.

The transformation also re-energises the Club's community mission through Cabravale Community, which supports local initiatives and national partners including The Sebastian Foundation, tackling youth mental health through its Open Parachute program.

Vicki Le, Chief Commercial Officer, said: “This is Western Sydney's time. For too long, people have felt they had to go into the city for a great night out. Cabravale Club Resort changes that. We're keeping people in the west, building tourism, and giving locals and visitors a world-class experience right here at home.”

This opening marks only the first phase of the resort's transformation, with further developments already planned, including additional restaurants and a new café, along with a major convention centre capable of hosting events of up to 1,000 guests - positioning Cabravale Club Resort among the largest and most versatile venues in Western Sydney.

From its origins in a modest army hut in 1925 to this spectacular unveiling a century later, Cabravale Club Resort stands as a symbol of Western Sydney's resilience, diversity and ambition - a new destination built on 100 years of community spirit.

“Cabravale Club Resort is a world-class destination that reflects the pride, progress and possibility of Western Sydney. It creates jobs, strengthens tourism, boosts the night-time economy, and gives locals a place to stay, dine and celebrate close to home. Most importantly, it stays true to its roots - continuing to honour veterans, support its members and give back to the community it has served for a century.”

Attributable to Dany Karam, Magma:

“What used to be a CBD-only experience is now here for our community. Western Sydney deserves a restaurant that's both elevated and welcoming. That's Magma.

“Developing the Magma menu has been a joy. It's anchored in my Lebanese heritage and Sunday BBQs with family, then layered with flavours I've fallen for in Turkey, Japan, Lebanon and Vietnam. It's generous, it's refined, and it's made for sharing. We can't wait to welcome guests into the world of Magma.”

Attributable to Adrian Williams, Chief Operating Officer, Accor:

“Accor is incredibly proud to be part of this milestone moment for Western Sydney. The opening of the Cabravale Club Resort represents the next chapter in how this region lives, works, and travels. As the region continues to grow, demand for quality accommodation has never been stronger, and Novotel Sydney Cabramatta answers that call – setting a new benchmark for world-class hospitality and a flagship Novotel right here in the heart of Western Sydney.”
