Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, November 14, 2025 - Blachford Lodge by Arctic Kingdom has announced the launch of Northern Legends Fishing Adventure, an itinerary created for anglers seeking remote, pristine waters and exceptional trophy fishing in Canada's north. Set on Blachford Lake in the Northwest Territories, this week-long program provides access to trophy-size northern pike and lake trout, as well as Arctic grayling, walleye, burbot, and whitefish. The area around Blachford Lake and beyond is an untouched wilderness landscape that has seen rising interest from travellers looking for authentic and uncrowded outdoor experiences.

Guests begin their journey in Yellowknife with one night of accommodations before travelling by float plane to Blachford Lodge. The itinerary features seven nights at the lodge, daily guided fishing on Blachford Lake, and two fly-out fishing experiences that take guests to Francois Bay and Slave River on Great Slave Lake. An overnight camp experience is included for those who want to spend a night under the northern sky, along with full use of kayaks, canoes, stand-up paddleboards, fat tire bikes, and other lodge activity equipment.

The launch comes as northern tourism continues to expand. Greater air access to Yellowknife, including direct routes from major cities, has made remote northern travel more accessible for adventure seekers. Visitors enjoy angling opportunities in wilderness settings where they often have entire lakes and bays to themselves. Northern Legends Fishing Adventure builds on this appeal with two fly-out fishing days, guided boat days on Blachford Lake, and a wide range of summer activities to complement each day on the water.

“Northern Legends Fishing Adventure brings together everything that makes the north extraordinary: untouched waters, remarkable fishing, and the serenity of a truly remote setting,” said Graham Dickson, President and CEO of Arctic Kingdom. “The fly-out locations are lakes that see very few visitors. This itinerary allows anglers to cast into waters that are not reachable by road, guided by local experts, and supported by the comfort and hospitality of Blachford Lodge.”

Departures for the 2026 summer season include:

  • July 17 to July 25
  • July 25 to August 1
  • August 1 to August 8
  • August 8 to August 15

Arctic Kingdom has more than 25 years of experience delivering remote Arctic expeditions, wildlife tours, and operational support for science, film, and adventure travel across Canada's north. Together with Blachford Lodge, a long-established wilderness retreat located a 25-minute bush plane flight from Yellowknife, the company continues to create meaningful experiences that celebrate northern landscapes, cultures, and traditions.
