Tradition: Tori-no-Ichi Fair (12 and 24 November 2025)

Join locals in celebrating prosperity and good fortune at the Tori-no-Ichi festival, a beloved Tokyo tradition dating back to the Edo period. Held on the auspicious “days of the rooster”, the fair fills shrines and temples such as Hanazono Shrine in Shinjuku, Asakusa Ohtori Shrine (浅草 鷲神社) and Okunitama Shrine in Fuchu with colourful decorations, lucky rakes (kumade), and joyful prayers for business success in the coming year.

Sport: Tokyo 2025 Deaflympics (15–26 November 2025)

Tokyo proudly hosts the 2025 Deaflympics, the first to be held in Japan, marking the 100th anniversary of this global celebration of deaf athletes. More than 100 nations will compete in 21 sports and 223 events across venues including the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium, showcasing human achievement, inclusion and unity through sport. Everyone is welcome to visit and watch the Games at the Tokyo 2025 Deaflympics! Free entrance, no registration is required, it's an exciting way to support international athletes at some of Tokyo's premier sporting venues.

Food and Festivity: SAKANA & JAPAN FESTIVAL 2025 (28–30 November 2025)

Calling all seafood lovers, come celebrate Japan's seafood heritage at the SAKANA & JAPAN FESTIVAL in Hibiya Park, where culinary excellence meets community spirit.
