What began as a singular idea, Bali's only beachfront Indian restaurant, has in just a few months become something more. The Beach Shack with its bold Indian coastal flavours, together with Le Club 22 with its Riviera-inspired elegance, now steps into a new chapter as one unified destination: Samudra Ganesha. The result is a bigger, brighter space that flows seamlessly from dining room to bar, from lunch to aperitif, from the first wave to the last lingering sunset.

From Beloved Shack to Samudra Ganesha

Since opening in July 2025, The Beach Shack quickly became the go-to spot for authentic Indian dining by the ocean. Every night, the tables filled, the clay ovens glowed, and the air carried spices that turned heads and drew crowds. With that kind of momentum, standing still was never an option.

The next chapter arrives as Samudra Ganesha, a name inspired by Ganesh, remover of obstacles and bringer of auspicious beginnings. It is more than a new identity, it is a celebration of growth, wisdom, and prosperity, shaped by the enthusiastic response that made expansion inevitable. The soul of the original vision lives on, only bigger, bolder, and ready for more.

Leading the kitchen is Chef Jeevraj Singh, whose culinary journey began in his grandmother's kitchen in Rajasthan. Since then, he has cooked in royal palaces, led kitchens around the world, and brought his skills to Karma destinations from India to Germany. His food tells stories, rooted in tradition yet shaped by everywhere he has been.

“The Beach Shack was the seed,” says Chef Jeevraj Singh. “It grew faster than we imagined. Samudra Ganesha is that seed in full bloom, a place where Indian flavours, seaside spirit, and vibrant energy meet.”

A Feast by the Ocean

At the heart of Samudra Ganesha remains its culinary identity: authentic Indian cuisine that is rooted in tradition yet alive with innovation. The menu spans North, South, and coastal India, with signature tandoori grills, richly spiced curries, and rotating regional specialties. Themed evenings immerse guests in India's diversity, from smoky Tandoori Nights to soulful Curry Nights to the colourful exuberance of Bollywood Nights with food, music, and dance.

The new bar carries forward Le Club 22's elegance, now reimagined through Indian spirit and tropical ease. Guests can sip on nostalgic street drinks reinvented, from jaljeera and masala chai to nimbu soda, transformed into cocktails and mocktails with a modern twist. A curated wine list complements the boldness of Indian spices, while signature cocktails tie together the essence of India and Bali in every glass.

The atmosphere at Samudra Ganesha is warm and vibrant, where Indian art and Ganesha motifs meet Balinese touches to create a space that feels soulful yet festive. Service carries the same energy, attentive but relaxed, turning every visit into something personal.
