MICHELIN GUIDE AWARDS THREE KEYS TO MANDAPA, A RITZ-CARLTON RESERVE

Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve

Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve is honored to receive Three Keys, the highest distinction for hotels in the MICHELIN Guide's debut of its first-ever global MICHELIN Key Selection, recognizing the world's most exceptional hotels across over 125 countries.

Since the opening of Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, in 2015, the resort has been dedicated to crafting rare journeys in Bali. Nestled in the spiritual heart of Ubud along the sacred Ayung River, the resort was constructed near a pristine plot of rainforest, brought together from multiple landowners for this exceptional project, all while preserving the natural environment. The architecture of the resort is inspired by indigenous Balinese villages, reflecting the region's rich culture and spirituality, as well as a 500-year-old temple located within the property.

The resort offers just 60 suites and villas, providing a personalized service, with each guest assigned a Patih, a butler, a title inspired by the ancient royal courts of Bali —an individual who served as an assistant to the king or queen. Patihs craft destinations' most rare journeys, from private blessings in thousands of years-old temples with a priest, to catching the first rays on the peaks of a mountain framed with views of magnificent lakes and mountains.

Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, redefines the culinary scene with four distinct dining concepts. Kubu features a zero-waste fine dining experience, using ingredients foraged within a 100-kilometer radius of the resort. Guests can also enjoy authentic Indonesian cuisine accompanied by traditional rituals and dance performances. Ambar Ubud Bar boasts a stunning cliffside location, offering breathtaking views and creatively crafted cocktails that celebrate the rich flora and fauna of Ubud, particularly through its signature Taru Pramana cocktail collection. Additionally, the private dining experiences known as Dining Beyond provide exquisite meals set by the river, in the rice paddies, or on the cliff.

This recognition from the MICHELIN Guide reaffirms Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve's position as a global leader in hospitality. The MICHELIN Key rates establishments based on five universal criteria: character and authenticity, design, consistency in service, value, and connection to the destination. The Three MICHELIN Keys is the highest rating, highlighting an extraordinary experience that offers unmatched comfort, elegance, and hospitality.

"We are immensely grateful to receive Three Keys from the MICHELIN Guide. Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve offers a rare experience, with service deeply rooted in Balinese culture and closely connected to the local community. Even after ten years, Mandapa continues to stand out as a one-of-a-kind resort in the world, with exceptional and consistent service that truly reflects its quality. This prestigious recognition is a testament to the dedication and commitment of our Ladies and Gentlemen, who are our most valuable asset. It's the unique Balinese culture and genuine hospitality of its people that shine through in these extraordinary stays," comments Masanori Hosoya, General Manager of Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve.
