Introducing The Magic Collection Retreats - Where Luxury Becomes a Living Artform

The Magic Collection Retreats

October 2025 — The Magic Collection Retreats is not a venture in luxury, it is a living legacy. Born from the shared life and vision of Mia Rigo and Alfredo Saitta, it embodies thirty-two years of love, creation, and the desire to give something enduring to the world: places where art, memory, and generosity become one continuous act of care.

These houses, in Megève, Milan, Forte dei Marmi, Ibiza, Geneva, and Florida, with Magic Salento soon to open, are homes, event venues, restaurants, and cultural spaces transformed into vessels of meaning. Each preserves a voice, a gesture, a trace of those who have created and shared their art within them.

The story began with a poem by Oriol, written about the “despair of the collector” — the grief of seeing works once loved dispersed and forgotten. That poem became a vow. Mia turned that feeling into a lifelong mission: to ensure that artists and their creations are remembered through their own voices, not only through the narratives of others. This conviction gave birth to Archivorum, a non-profit public association devoted to preserving artists' legacies through their words, books, and testimonies — allowing memory to live on as a conversation between generations rather than an echo of the past. Archivorum was created out of a desire to let artists speak in their own words — ensuring that their voices, as well as their works, endure.

To stay in a Magic house is not to visit a property; it is to enter a story. A story of family, of artists, of a way of life devoted to meaning rather than display. Here, luxury gives way to authentic presence, intimacy, and belonging.

Guests are welcomed not as clients, but as part of the family, invited to share in the same joy that built these homes. Every table, sculpture, and book tells of those who believed in this vision — artists, friends, and loved ones who trusted that art and generosity could coexist. It is a living museum in the truest sense: a home where creation and affection breathe together.

And like all true homes, it begins with a simple gesture, take off your shoes, slip into soft slippers and feel the warmth of the floor beneath you. This is barefoot luxury: comfort without pretense, elegance that invites ease, and the freedom to simply belong.

Founder,  Mia Rigo Saitta said: “The Magic Collection was never about luxury. It was born from the desire to protect the voices and gestures of those who create and to honour their memory and share it with others. My husband and I have built our lives around art, friendship, and family. Our homes reflect that love, they are not showcases, but living memories. We built them for our children, for Roger, and for the generations who will come after, so that this thread of beauty and kindness will never fade.

“For me, hospitality is a way to honour life itself,  a practice of care, memory, and gratitude that turns the act of hosting into an expression of art.”

Mia comes from a family devoted to the common good. Her mother founded over twenty public libraries in Modena, creating spaces of learning and belonging. Her father dedicated his life as a doctor to caring for others. From them, she inherited the belief that beauty and knowledge must be shared, not owned — and that the act of creation is always a public gesture of generosity. It is this moral foundation that sustains The Magic Collection Retreats: not as a pursuit of opulence, but as a continuum of giving — transforming what was once private into a shared heritage.

For more than three decades, Mia and Alfredo have cultivated a life that celebrates art, friendship, and togetherness. Alfredo, a passionate and discerning wine collector, curates cellars that tell stories of time, soil, and craftsmanship. His bottles have accompanied countless dinners, laughter-filled nights, and moments of reflection — shared always in the same spirit: to bring joy to others. Their homes carry the fragrance of lived life — the scent of a homemade cake, the voices of parents remembered, the warmth of gathering around a table. They reflect the values of their Italian roots in Emilia-Romagna: hard work, conviviality, creativity, and the deep joy of sharing.

At the heart of The Magic Collection Retreats are not only the artists and friends who helped shape it, but also the family for whom it was created. Mia and Alfredo are parents to three children — Alice, Andrea, and Agata — and have also opened their home and hearts to Roger, a ten-year-old who lives with them, together with his family.

Each brings a unique energy to this constellation of homes: Alice, deeply involved in the story, carries forward the family's vision with her own sense of creativity and care. Andrea, passionate about gastronomy, shares his father's love for food and convivial joy. Agata, who works with a non-profit in Africa, embodies the family's commitment to service and humanity. Roger, with the open wonder of a child, dreams of becoming an artist himself.

Vaquita and Ella are also part of the family,  two little dogs that represent continuity, joy, and daily companionship, and who accompany Mia and her tribe wherever they go.

Together, they form the living soul of The Magic Collection Retreats,  the next thread in a tapestry that will continue to grow, evolve, and tell new stories. Mia's dream is simple yet profound: that these places — born from love, memory, and art — will remain alive forever, cared for by future generations, carrying their spirit forward.
