Tokyo is preparing to welcome the world to its latest anime-inspired attraction with the opening of PokéPark KANTO in 2026. This long-awaited Pokémon-themed destination will immerse visitors in imaginative zones where they can meet, play, and adventure alongside their favourite characters. Tokyo's anime amusement scene is already rich and diverse. Fans can step into the vibrant, kawaii universe of Sanrio Puroland, the indoor park celebrating Hello Kitty and friends, or explore the worlds of Studio Ghibli at Ghibli Museum.

PokéPark KANTO will be the first permanent outdoor park for Pokémon, opening in spring 2026 in part of the Yomiuriland theme park. The 2.6-hectare grounds make the most of the lush Tama Hills through two areas: “Pokémon Forest,” home to Pokémon, and “Kayatsuri Town” (Sedge Town), lively with shops and attractions. Experience the world of Pokémon through encounters with over 600 Pokémon and a variety of exciting events. Tickets are scheduled to go on sale later this year.
