FEAL Hospitality, One of Miami's Most Dynamic Restaurant Groups Led by Chef Niven Patel and Mohamed “Mo” Alkassar, Launches Ghee Indian Kitchen in Atlanta's West Midtown in Fall 2025

Ghee Indian Kitchen

ATLANTA, September 2025 — FEAL Hospitality, one of Miami's most dynamic restaurant groups led by Co-Founders & Co-Owners/Operators Chef Niven Patel and Mohamed (Mo) Alkassar, who are both James Beard Award nominees, today announces the opening of Ghee Indian Kitchen in Atlanta in Fall 2025. It is the first bold expansion of the beloved restaurant group and one of its marquee brands beyond its home state of Florida.

Located in the Sentral Building at 1050 Howell Mill Road next door to the legendary Northside Tavern, the restaurant brings Chef Patel's modern farm-to-table Indian cuisine to the city's arts-centric West Midtown neighborhood. It replicates the original Ghee Indian Kitchen's acclaimed dishes, cocktails and interiors, complete with furniture handcrafted in India. The restaurant accommodates a total of 140 guests, with 78 in the dining room and 12 at the bar, along with 50 seats outdoors.

Ghee Indian Kitchen redefined Indian dining in South Florida when it opened in Miami's Dadeland neighborhood and went on to earn MICHELIN Bib Gourmand Awards in 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025. The restaurant strives to incorporate fresh produce from local farms and is renowned for its welcoming hospitality and high-energy dining experience. It enchants both South Asian guests, who seek the authentic flavors of home, as well as locals and visitors seeking an accessible and affordable culinary adventure.

Chef Niven Patel on His Vision for Ghee in Atlanta

“I cook the food I grew up with, but through the lens of my experiences around the world. Ghee Indian Kitchen is where my ethnicity meets the journey I've taken as a chef. We are redoubling our farm-to-table commitment and are excited to work with some amazing local farmers to source incredible ingredients. In addition, we will be flying in produce from our own Rancho Patel, including taro leaves for our pakoras. In fact, we have already increased our crop for the Atlanta opening. We are looking forward to sharing our classic dishes with Atlantans and visitors to this great city.”

Mohamed “Mo” Alkassar on the Expansion of Ghee

“Ghee Indian Kitchen celebrates the heritage of Indian cooking while opening a thoughtful path for those tasting its flavors for the first time. We are delighted to make Atlanta our first step towards taking Ghee Indian Kitchen national, and West Midtown was the perfect up-and-coming neighborhood to grow with. Most importantly, we want our guests to know that we will be validating parking within our building, Sentral, as well as some adjacent parking lots. We will also offer valet service to make Ghee Indian Kitchen convenient for our guest.”

The Newest Addition to FEAL Hospitality's Acclaimed Portfolio

The new Ghee is the latest addition to FEAL Hospitality, which co-owners Chef Patel and Alkassar began conceptualizing the new location in 2024. Chef Niven is a four-time James Beard Award semi-finalist for “Best Chef: South” and a Food & Wine “Best New Chefs 2020.” Alkassar is a veteran global operator named a James Beard Award 2023 semi-finalist for “Outstanding Restaurateur.” The two were recently named to the Observer's 2024 Nightlife & Dining Power List, celebrating the industry's most important players across the U.S.

The group has made a name for itself with its acclaimed restaurants that include the original Ghee Indian Kitchen in Dadeland, which earned Eater Miami's “Best Restaurant of the Year,” and a location in Wynwood. They are complemented by NiMo, a pizzeria in Tequesta, Fla., which boasts a beautiful, open-air terrace and a wood-fired oven. Paya, serving island-inspired cuisine, opened its doors on Miami's South Beach. Both Ghee Indian Kitchen and Paya were recently named among the New York Times' “The 25 Best Restaurants in Miami Right Now.”

A Commitment to Farm-to-Table on the Plate and in the Glass

Chef Patel strives to use produce from Rancho Patel, his home in nearby Homestead, Fla. Its ecosystem provides the ability to grow a plethora of fruits, vegetables and herbs. Additionally, the kitchen collaborates with fishermen who employ sustainable fishing techniques and heritage farmers who raise livestock and poultry using humane and eco-friendly practices. The restaurant's cocktail program similarly salutes local ingredients.

These complement a color palette dominated by yellow and terracotta, with accents of blue and green.
