Savour The Tweed returns this October 

Coming this spring, from 22–26 October, Australia's favourite new food and drink festival Savour The Tweed returns. Co-curated by Tweed-based chef and author Christine Manfield and local food advocate Amy Colli, this year's expanded program features 35 unmissable events. Expect powerhouse collaborations between Tweed food heroes and national culinary names, including Bundjalung chef Mindy Woods, Martin Boetz of Brisbane's Shortgrain, Melbourne's Frank Camorra of Movida, and Christine Manfield.

Gourmet Traveller nods for Pipit and Bistro Livi 

The Tweed has once again been recognised on the national stage, featuring prominently in the Gourmet Traveller Top 100 Restaurants for 2025. Bistro Livi in Murwillumbah and Pipit in Pottsville both secured spots, highlighting The Tweed as one of Australia's top regional dining destinations. Potager House opens in Carool 

Award-winning dining destination Potager – A Kitchen Garden has joined The Hinterland Collection and now offers overnight stays with the opening of Potager House. Tweed Heads cafe scene grows and grows

The café scene in Tweed Heads continues to evolve and become even more of a magnet for lovers of fresh food and great coffee. Nice Nice is the latest neighbourhood spot, all about simple plates, great coffee and relaxed vibes. Just around the corner, Dayo Café brings colour and Filipino flavour to the riverfront, serving longganisa (Filipino-style sausage) breakfast bowls, vibrant salads and hearty rice dishes, all crafted with local produce. Bread Winner sandwiches hit Kingscliff

At Kingscliff on the Tweed Coast, there is a mouth-watering buzz in the air for the irresistible sandwiches being crafted at Bread Winner. Blending laid-back beachside chill with next-level combinations like crispy schnitzel with house pickles, roast pumpkin with feta and chilli jam, or prawn rolls with a Tweed twist, this instantly iconic spot has quickly gained a hungry following. A new Natural Wine Bar for Burringbar

Village evenings in Burringbar are now even better with the opening of the Natural Wine Bar, carved from a former laundromat into a moody speakeasy and part of the well-stocked Natural Wine Shop. It's the perfect place for a sip, snack and unwind by night and by day the space transforms into Pour Good, serving expertly brewed coffee and pastries.

Taha Distillery brings (more of!) the spirit  

Taha Distillery has long been producing small-batch gin, vodka and rum sips inspired by the South Pacific out of their Tweed Heads distillery and now you're invited in for a sneaky afternoon taste, sip and snack at their just-opened Cellar Door Bar. Expect good vibes and tunes along with refreshing Taha drinks every Thursday to Saturday from 12noon to 5pm. Take home pre-mix cans also available! 

Spangled Drongo now pouring good times at Citadel Murwillumbah 

Tweed craft beer makers Spangled Drongo Brewing Co has been keeping us refreshed with creative brews that celebrate local flavours and now the team has found a creative home in partnership with The Citadel in Murwillumbah. Originally built in 1920 as a Salvation Army church, where brass bands and community gatherings were held, The Citadel together with Spangled Drongo now welcomes devotees of live music, local brews and tasty cocktails to drop in for good times with friends and a welcoming community vibe. 

Brisbane's Empire Revival arrives in Murwillumbah

Design lovers will rejoice with the opening of Empire Revival in Murwillumbah's M|Arts Precinct. The team from Sip n Bite Bakehouse have recently joined the neighbourhood, serving decadent cakes, fresh breads and chewy cookies right next door to Ventura Brewing, makers of Australia's first alcoholic craft kombucha.
