Pepper & Seed Welcomes Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru and Dhawa Ihuru, Maldives to Its Portfolio

Banyan Group

LONDON – 5 September 2025 – Pepper & Seed is delighted to announce its appointment as UK PR partner for two exceptional Maldivian resorts: Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru and Dhawa Ihuru.

Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru
Celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2025, Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru is the original eco-luxury resort in the Maldives; pioneering sustainability initiatives for three decades, including the opening of the first Marine Conservation Laboratory in 2004, driving initiatives such as reef preservation and a coral nursery.

The intimate sanctuary is a barefoot paradise infused with authentic Maldivian spirit, each of the 48 villas offers complete privacy, just steps from the turquoise ocean. With five villa categories available including Oceanview Pool Villa, Beachfront Pool Villa, Beachfront Sunset View Pool Villa, Grand Beachfront Pool Villa and the signature Wellbeing Sanctuary Pool Villa - all designed using sustainable local materials that blend seamlessly with the surrounding natural environment.

A true sanctuary for the senses, from the moment of arrival, guests are invited to take part in a sacred welcoming ritual that is steeped in tradition - stepping barefoot into the sand to mark their first footsteps on the island to the beat of Boduberu drums, connecting with nature and feeling grounded. The Banyan Tree Spa offers a selection of unique wellbeing experiences such as Lagoon Floating Therapy, Cupping and Acupuncture. The newly launched Banyan Tree Connections programme is a specially curated programme of wellbeing experiences to bring individuals together again, from couples to friends and siblings.

Guests staying at the resort may enjoy an exceptional range of dining experiences from the Banyan Tree signature restaurant, Saffron, serving vibrant Thai cuisine, to Sangu Garden, offering the best of Maldives' fresh and seasonal ingredients, sustainably sourced with a deep respect for nature. The over-water restaurant, Madi Hayaa, is a striking, award-winning design, with  breathtaking sunset views and serving extraordinary Japanese cuisine with a Maldivian twist.  For those seeking romance and privacy, dining on a secluded beach under the stars is a one of a kind experience.

This September, Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru marks its 30-year milestone with the launch of Saafu Kuramaa National Community Clean-Up on International Coastal Clean up Day - taking place on 20 September 2025. This landmark initiative will be the largest nationwide coastal clean-up in the Maldives, uniting more than 180 islands and 30,000 participants in a simultaneous one-hour clean-up.

Dhawa Ihuru
Just a few minutes away, Dhawa Ihuru offers a vibrant, all-inclusive experience — laid-back, family-friendly, and ideal for divers. Surrounded by the Maldives' award-winning house reefs (ranked #6 in the Maldives by Travel & Leisure), the resort combines contemporary villas with a lively programme of experiences: from arts and crafts with the resident artist to a dedicated kids' club, snorkelling, water sports, and diving at the nearby Rannamaari shipwreck. Guests at Dhawa Ihuru also enjoy access to the dining venues of neighbouring Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru.

Twin Island Experience
Both resorts are located in the North Malé Atoll, just a 25-minute speedboat ride from Velana International Airport, offering guests two distinct Maldivian escapes (just five minutes away from each other by speedboat) — one rooted in pioneering eco-luxury, the other celebrating vibrant, family-friendly island life.

Pepper & Seed looks forward to sharing stories and opportunities from both resorts.
