A Season of Culture and Connection
This September, Capella Sydney deepens its commitment to the arts through a vibrant partnership with Sydney Contemporary, Australasia’s premier international art fair. The hotel invites guests to experience exclusive access to a dynamic program showcasing contemporary works from Australia, New Zealand, Asia and beyond.
Throughout the month, guests can enjoy a carefully curated calendar of in-house activations and artist encounters, including a live performance by acclaimed visual artist Dr Christian Thompson AO and guided tours that offer a closer look at the highlights of Sydney Contemporary.
On Tuesday, 9 September at Aperture, Capella Sydney will host Recital, an intimate performance drawing on Thompson’s Aboriginal Australian heritage and classical training. His music shifts between ancient tradition and contemporary sound, weaving traditional Bidjara rhythms with layered vocals and subtle pop sensibilities to create a powerful and immersive listening experience.
Award-winning fibre artist Catriona Pollard will present her inaugural Artist in Residence series, unveiling an evolving installation that explores the connection between the hotel’s architecture and the natural world. As part of her residency, guests are invited to participate in her signature Capella Moment, Weaving the Wild, a hands-on workshop designed to inspire reflection and creative exploration.
Guests will also have the opportunity to enjoy a guided walk through the Royal Botanic Garden to learn more about its remarkable history, diverse botany and wildlife, or experience the inaugural Australian Native Food Festival at Carriageworks, a new celebration of Indigenous culture, knowledge and native ingredients.
Seasonal Dining - Flavour in Full Bloom
Capella Sydney is thrilled to welcome LODE Pies and acclaimed chef Federico Zanellato to Aperture for a special takeover of the hotel’s signature Afternoon Tea experience.
Since opening in 2021, LODE has earned acclaim as one of Sydney’s most sought-after pastry destinations, celebrated for its use of stone-ground flours, Belgian butter, and sustainably sourced ingredients.
The LODE Afternoon Tea at Aperture collaboration features delicacies such as Lobster Vol-Au-Vent with Yuzu Mayo, Tasmanian Truffle Chicken Mousse Brioche and LODE’s signature Croissant Cannoli with Rosella Jam. Priced at $95 per person, the experience includes bottomless tea and coffee, with optional pairings of Saicho Premium Darjeeling Tea for $35, a glass of NV Ruinart Rosé Champagne for $55, or 10g of Capella Kaluga caviar for $65.

A Season of Wellness and Movement
Capella Sydney is pleased to announce the return of its Season of Wellness at Auriga Spa. Now in its second year, the program invites guests to embrace rest, movement and restoration as the city awakens with the arrival of spring.
Throughout the season, hotel guests will have access to six bespoke Fluidform Pilates sessions in the comfort of their room. Each session runs for 20 minutes and is available on demand throughout their stay, offering flexibility and ease. For those seeking a more personalised experience, private consultations with Fluidform trainers can be arranged either in-room or within the calming surrounds of Auriga Spa.
As part of its seasonal offering, Auriga Spa continues to draw on the rhythms of nature, inspired by lunar cycles and celestial alignments. A highlight of the wellness program is the Australian Elemental Facial Alchemy, a 90-minute signature treatment that combines Australia’s natural elements, Indigenous wisdom and advanced thermo and cryo stone therapy.
This transformative facial begins with a hot stone back massage and progresses into a refined facial experience, designed to leave the skin radiant and revitalised. The treatment harnesses botanicals from ocean, earth and rainforest, enhanced by semi-precious gems, desert stones and volcanic minerals
Guests are also invited to complete their wellness journey with access to Auriga’s thermal experiences, including the steam room, sauna, ice fountain and experience showers. These facilities are designed to complement spa treatments and offer a holistic approach to wellbeing in the heart of the city.
