Tutankhamun: The Immersive Exhibition

Families can step into the world of ancient Egypt at the SEC this summer at Tutankhamun: The Immersive Exhibition, open now and running until October 2025. Fascinating history meets cutting-edge technology in this breathtaking experience where the whole family can journey through the story of the Boy King with awe-inspiring visuals, 360° projections and interactive displays that bring Tutankhamun's world to life. Kids can walk through a recreation of his tomb, uncover secrets from the Valley of the Kings, and enjoy hands-on fun with digital archaeology zones. Learning has never been so fun, and they'll go back to school full of fun facts to share with their classmates!

The Burrell Collection and Pollok Country Park
Set in the leafy surroundings of Pollok Country Park, the award-winning Burrell Collection invites families to discover over 9,000 objects spanning history and cultures. With free admission, interactive displays, and picnic spots across the park, it's the perfect blend of art and outdoor adventure. To make your visit extra special, check out the family friendly Burrell Trails, a collection of interactive worksheets kids can enjoy filling out as they explore the Collection.

Interactive learning at Glasgow Science Centre
Ignite kids' curiosity at Glasgow Science Centre, where science becomes a hands-on adventure! From dinosaurs and superheroes on the IMAX screen to flight simulators, live dissections, and hands-on exhibits, Glasgow Science Centre is packed with family fun this summer. Kids can become detectives, test their super-human skills, and explore over 300 interactive exhibits across three floors. Catch Superman in IMAX 3D with a special family ticket, blast off in the Planetarium, or get behind the controls in Scotland's only full-motion flight simulator. Discover the summer schedule here.

Step into the past at Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum

With towering dinosaurs, gleaming suits of armour, Egyptian artefacts, and world-famous art, Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum offers an unforgettable mix of culture, history and fun for people of all ages. Across 22 galleries, families can explore everything from animals to artworks by Van Gogh. This summer, mini visitors can dive into a free family programme including Mini Museum Explorers for 3-5 year olds, interactive Discover Sessions, and trails designed to spark curiosity at every turn. The museum also hosts drop-in activities during the summer holidays, making each visit a little different. Free to enter and set within the picturesque Kelvingrove Park, it's a summer must-visit.

Afternoon Tea at Hazel in AC by Marriott
Treat mini diners to a delicious, specially designed children's afternoon tea at Hazel, the stylish restaurant inside the AC Hotel in Glasgow city centre. The 'Little Saplings' afternoon tea features jigsaw puzzle sandwiches, mini scones, and honey panna cotta – all served on a tiered stand just like the 'grown up' version – and is themed around the robin bird. Children will also get their very own singing robin toy to take home in a nod to the bird in the miracles of St Mungo, with each toy purchased through RSPB to help support local wildlife.

Clip 'n Climb at Kelvin Hall
Got little climbers with big energy? Clip 'n Climb at Kelvin Hall offers thrilling vertical challenges in a fun and safe indoor environment. Friendly instructors are on hand to guide first-time climbers, and there are climbing challenges available for all abilities. Those who feel really brave can even take on the leap of faith! Whether you're racing each other to the top or cheering from below, it's high-energy fun the whole family can enjoy, rain or shine.

The great outdoors

Glasgow isn't just about world-class museums, it's also bursting with green spaces and outdoor adventures that are perfect for families. Enjoy family fun and live entertainment at Queen's Park Arena, meet the resident Highland cattle in Pollok Country Park, or get up close to Shetland ponies, rabbits and sheep at Tollcross Children's Farm, all without leaving the city.
