Six shows not to miss at 10 Nights in Port: Walyalup Fremantle Festival

A lineup awash with witches, floods, flames and food – warm up at Walyalup's winter festival of culture and arts from 7-17 August.

29 July 2025 – Fremantle, Australia: Come to the fire this winter and experience something different as the Port city is transformed into a wonderland of creativity.

The packed schedule of 45 events across 10 days includes walks and tours, theatre, dance, comedy, workshops, music, exhibitions, and more.

The curated lineup will activate multiple spaces in Fremantle including Esplanade Park, where a free large-scale botanical installation will be open daily, Kokomos Livid Skate Café, Booyeembara Park, PS Art Space, Walyalup Fremantle Arts Centre, South Beach, and Convict's Lane. Many of the events will take place at the historic Fremantle Town Hall, which will be lit with projections each evening.

Time Rebel: A Climate Cabaret | Thur 7 Aug | Fremantle Town Hall

ABC TV's Gardening Australia presenter and long-time climate activist Hannah Moloney presents this spectacular joy-fest inspired by her life story. Time Rebel is an original new performance with Hannah's infectious energy and creativity that will leave viewers with a lasting feeling of hope for our world.

Mowanjum Now | Fri 8 Aug | PS Art Space

An exhibition and concert showcasing a new generation of art and music from the community of Mowanjum in the Kimberley. A night of storytelling and country-leaning tunes many years in the making, bringing together musicians from Mowanjum Community and Fremantle including Kallum Mungulu, Steven Nulgit, Nicolas Allbrook, Talya Valenti, Samuel Newman, and more.

Strings of Winter | Sat 9 Aug | Fremantle Town Hall

Fremantle Chamber Orchestra's 20th Anniversary Concert will feature 15-year-old award winning prodigy Ellie Malonzo. The talented violinist has won 11 first prizes at international competitions and will play alongside the legendary Paul Wright who will perform solos and conduct. With musicians and compositions from all over the world, the concert will be a melting pot of people, cultures, and music.

Flaming Freo | Sat 16 Aug | Convict's Lane

Convict's Lane – the narrow passage of heritage stone that runs between Moon & Mary, Cassia, and The Old Courthouse will ignite with food and flames. The three neighbouring kitchens will serve a line-up of winter-warming street eats with every dish under $15. Think fiery entertainment, live DJs, DIY marshmallow toasting, and more.

Future Treasures | Sun 17 Aug | Fremantle Town Hall

A special showcase featuring young local bands with a mix of rock, indie, alternative, and hip hop, and, just announced: Birdland. Local identical 17-year-old triplets Conrad, Oscar and Francis Cvitan have amassed a huge following with over 185k followers on TikTok and a WAM Song of The Year nomination. The trio's raw talent and accessible sounds will headline this stars of tomorrow showcase.

Messy Friends: Party Favours | Fri 15 Aug | Fremantle Town Hall

Winners of the Best Cabaret Award (Adelaide Fringe 2024) and Best Show Award (FRINGE WORLD 2022), Messy Friends is an electrifying, jaw-dropping journey through the ultimate house party. With pulsing club beats, slick choreography, and incredible costumes, this high-energy show is a celebration of house party nostalgia.
