The annual Claremont festival takes a bold turn from the Bard with a high-energy staging of We Will Rock You, the rock musical by Ben Elton and Queen. Set 300 years in the future in a world devoid of human-made music, We Will Rock You follows a rebellious band of Bohemians fighting to bring real music back to life.

The Midsummer Theater Festival runs July 10–20, Thursday through Sunday evenings, at Pomona College’s scenic Sontag Greek Theatre. Each night begins with “Green Shows” at 7 p.m., featuring local performers, followed by the main show (We Will Rock You) at 8 p.m. Gates open at 6:30 p.m. for pre-show picnicking on the lawn. Beer, wine, and snacks will be available for purchase.
