A new stargazing tour in Exmouth is turning heads skyward as Ningaloo Stars launches guided night sky experiences under some of the clearest skies in the Southern Hemisphere. Led by passionate local guides, these immersive tours blend astronomy, Indigenous sky stories, and the natural beauty of the Ningaloo region, offering a truly memorable night under the stars.

Ningaloo Stars is just one of several operators contributing to a growing astro-tourism movement across WA's Gascoyne region, where low light pollution and wide open landscapes create ideal conditions for stargazing. Indigenous-led experiences such as those offered by Wooramulla Eco Cultural Journeys provide strong cultural connections and share traditional knowledge and stories that deepen the connection between culture and cosmos.

To support and promote these experiences, a new destination brand, Gazing the Gascoyne officially launches this week. The brand has been developed in collaboration with the Shires of Exmouth, Carnarvon, Shark Bay and Upper Gascoyne, the Gascoyne Development Commission, and Australia's Coral Coast.

Gazing the Gascoyne celebrates the region's night skies through a suite of guided tours, self-drive experiences, and stargazing events. A new landing page now provides visitors with information on stargazing hotspots, upcoming experiences, and how to make the most of the night sky while travelling through the region.

“Our goal is to establish the Gascoyne as Australia's premier destination for stargazing and astro-tourism,” said Timothy Bray, CEO of the Gascoyne Development Commission. “With operators like Ningaloo Stars now offering rich, story-led experiences, the region is well placed to capture the imagination of night sky lovers from around the world.”

The brand launch includes the release of a dedicated landing page equipping visitors with the information to start their celestial journey, a digital & media marketing campaign, and support for local businesses and tour operators to enhance astro-tourism experiences throughout the region.
