June 2025…// Five Red Star, two Michelin-Key The Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa in Bath is welcoming the summer season with a host of events, experiences, and cultural offerings, open to guests and locals alike. The brand new Taittinger Champagne Terrace invites guests to relax in the sunshine with a glass of fizz, or to enjoy some live music at one of the regular DJ nights and live jazz evenings. For those seeking culture, in the stunning gardens of the hotel Axle Arts and Somerset Art Works will hold an outdoor sculpture exhibition, featuring a variety of sculptures by renowned and emerging artists, all from the local area. What's more, Bath is set to be an especially popular destination this year, thanks to Jane Austen 250, and those attending the festival or visiting in the run up can book The Jane Austen Experience, inviting overnight guests to step back into Regency-era Bath.
The city of Bath truly comes alive in the summer months, with a number of regular festivals and live music events taking place throughout the season, including Robbie Williams playing a landmark concert on the Crescent as part of the 250th anniversary of the Crescent. The Royal Crescent is perfectly placed for both visitors and guests to stop by or stay for longer while soaking up the buzzing Bath atmosphere. The newly opened Taittinger Champagne Terrace provides the perfect place to unwind on a warm summer's afternoon or evening. Surrounded by manicured gardens, regency architecture and sun-drenched corners, guests are invited to sit back, relax and sip on chilled glasses of Taittinger Champagne. With light seasonal dishes and sharing plates available throughout the day, this is the perfect spot for a long lunch, a celebratory toast or a relaxed evening shared with friends.
Live jazz evenings will take place regularly across the summer season, with world-renowned saxophonist Iain Ballamy and his Crescent Jazz Trio performing a vibrant mix of classic jazz, original compositions and samba and bossa nova rhythm, fortnightly on Wednesday evenings on the heated terrace at Montagu's Mews. On the first Friday evening of each summer month, from 7pm-9pm, June through September, visitors can enjoy laid back summer vibes from the hotel's resident DJ, Select Sounds, while sipping on handcrafted cocktails and snacking on light bites.
Set within the walled gardens, the Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition showcases a variety of sculptures by renowned and emerging artists, including Dorothy Brook, Barry Davies RCA, and Rachel Demuth. Curated by Axle Arts Director Bridget Sterling, the exhibition draws inspiration from Bath's classical heritage and the hotel's refined Georgian setting. Running from May 23rd to September 28th, it offers a distinctive cultural experience for art enthusiasts visiting the Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa.
To mark one of Bath's most prestigious historical and literary figures, The Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa is offering guests the opportunity to immerse themselves in the famed Regency period through The Jane Austen Experience package, available throughout the summer. Step into Jane Austen's Bath with a private two-hour walking tour led by expert Blue Badge guide Fred Mawer, followed by a themed afternoon tea in Montagu's Mews inspired by Regency England. The overnight package will run during the months of June, July, August, and September, meaning guests can book during the most exciting time of the year for Austen lovers: The Jane Austen Festival in September.
Throughout the summer, guests can also book an iconic hot air balloon ride during their stay, in the hotel's private balloon; a fragrance workshop with local perfumery Parterre; a unique Penny Farthing tutorial; or simply a GROUND Wellbeing treatment in the spa.
