St. Anton's postcard-perfect landscapes would be reason enough to come visit. But the region has a lot more to offer - let us show you some of the highlights!

Get out of bed early and master your tree pose at sunrise, then stay out all day hiking, biking, climbing, trail running – or just chilling at a lake or pool amidst three-thousanders. St. Anton am Arlberg, often dubbed the “Cradle of Skiing” in the colder months, is a paradise for active travellers, nature lovers and those just looking for a relaxing break during the summer and autumn time. Endless outdoor adventures, fresh mountain air, picturesque lakes, and stunning vistas are all part of the deal. As a bonus, most of the activities are just a short distance away from each other, meaning guests don't have to choose that one adventure, they can pick several throughout their stay – or even in a day.

St. Anton am Arlberg invites travellers to experience unspoiled nature, local traditions and outstanding hospitality first-hand. It's why many who've come once quickly turn into regulars. This year, holidays will be even more attractive thanks to additional attractions for all ages and fitness levels. Have a look at what's on offer below!

Hiking: New route makes the Arlberg Trail more accessible than ever

With 400 km of hiking trails and six summer cable cars whisking guests straight up to their starting (or viewing) point, St. Anton am Arlberg is a great place to put on your sturdy boots and explore your surroundings on foot, no matter if you're a seasoned hiker or a complete beginner. A long-term favourite among locals and guests alike is the Arlberg Trail, connecting the five towns of Lech, Zürs, Stuben, St. Anton and Christoph on a 50-km circular tour. In addition to the relatively demanding original route, there are now also less strenuous trail variants, catering for those who prefer to take it easy, making more frequent use of cable cars and leading along fewer steep sections.

The Verwalltal is another hiker's dream destination, with leisurely hiking trails (many of them family- and even -prom-friendly) starting just a stone's throw away from St. Anton's town centre.

Biking: Challenge yourself to a mountain tour – or take it easy on an e-bike

St. Anton am Arlberg is also an El Dorado for bikers. The well-signposted trails on the 220-km network might sometimes be challenging but always reward with views of some of the most beautiful high valleys in the Alps. Experienced road cyclists will love the routes leading along Kaunertal Glacier, the scenic Silvretta High Alpine Road, or the Three Passes tour to the Bregenzerwald and Lake Constance, as well as the (E-)MTB route up Heilbronner Hut in Verwall.  Those preferring a more leisurely experience can rent e-bikes or chose one of the family-friendly trails between St. Anton am Arlberg and Schnann. The “EldoRADo” in Verwall offers a pump track and different trails for different skill levels.  On the event side: The Arlberg Giro, a 150 km long racing course starting and finishing in St. Anton, will, for the first time, include a St. Anton Night Sprint (1 August).

Refreshing: Mountain lakes – and a wellness temple – at your doorstep

Guests longing for a more relaxing holiday will be delighted by the picturesque mountain lakes dotted around St. Anton, inviting to take a dip or just lingering at their shores all day long. Equally, they make a refreshing break for hikers and bikers passing by. And, of course, they are also great photo opportunities.  Spa fans are well catered for in the region too. Especially worth noting is Arlberg WellCom, a modern wellness complex with indoor and outdoor pools, various saunas, massages and a gym.

Recharging: St. Anton's Mountain Yoga Festival turns 10

St. Anton has long been a go-to place for yogis who'd rather practice outdoors than in a studio. It's no surprise therefore, that their Mountain Yoga Festival ranks among the most popular in Austria. This year, the festival celebrates its 10th birthday. Looking back on a decade of powerful yoga sessions, inspiring encounters and relaxing time in nature, the anniversary will be marked with a varied programme that includes everything from yoga classes to meditation, nutrition workshops and yoga expert talks as well as hikes around the region (4 – 7 September).

Feasting: Choose from more than 30 Gault Millau award-winning restaurants

Last but not least, St. Anton am Arlberg is a reknowned foodie hotspot, where guests can enjoy down-to-earth Tyrolean cuisine one day and award-winning international cuisine the next. There are more than 30 Gault Milau-awarded restaurants in the region and 60 mountain huts and restaurants in St. Anton alone – each of them unique and with their very own signature dishes. Take your pick, sit down and get ready to be spoiled!
