Each weekend brings a new reason to visit Pittsburgh this summer thanks to the diverse lineup of festivals and events taking place across the region. Plus, most are free to attend. British Airways now flies direct to Pittsburgh from London Heathrow daily from £483. 

Kennywood Bites & Pints Festival (23 May - 29 June)

This festival offers a culinary journey around the world with chef-inspired tastings, craft beer, wine, and specialty cocktails in the Pennsylvanian theme park. Guests can explore eight tasting locations around the Lagoon and use a Bite Card to sample a variety of dishes. New for 2025 are flavours from Cuba and Spain.

Pittsburgh Pride (30 May - 1 June)

Celebrating the city's vibrant LGBTQ+ community with a weekend of events, including performances by artists like David Archuleta and Willam. The Pride Parade steps off at 12 PM on 1 June from Liberty Ave & 11th St.

Three Rivers Arts Festival (5-8 June)

This 10-day celebration transforms downtown Pittsburgh into a vibrant hub of creativity, featuring live music, visual art installations, and interactive exhibits. Free to attend, typically over 400 artists and musicians take part. Past performers have included renowned artists like Preservation Hall Jazz Band and Suzanne Vega.

Beers of The Burgh Festival (7 June)

Held at the historic Carrie Blast Furnaces, this festival showcases over 50 local breweries, offering a variety of beers, ciders, meads, and more. Attendees can enjoy live music, food trucks, and craft vendors in a unique industrial setting.

Rockin Regatta (7-8 June)

The inaugural Rockin' Regatta at Pittsburgh Brewing Company features APBA-sanctioned powerboat races on the Allegheny River, live music, food, and family-friendly activities. Attendees can watch hydroplanes reach speeds up to 85 mph and enjoy the festival atmosphere on land.

Picklesburgh (11-13 July)

A must-visit for foodies, Picklesburgh is a culinary celebration that holds the dill pickle high above the rest. Celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, local restaurants and budding chefs set up pop-up stalls selling all things pickled, from artisan cocktails to deep fried pickles on a stick and pickle-flavoured oreos. The festival also includes live music, how-to demos, author talks and pickled merch.

Vintage Grand Prix (11-20 July)

Celebrating its 43rd year, the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix is the nation's largest vintage street race, featuring 10 days of racing, car shows, parties, and motorsport events. The event culminates with vintage racing in Schenley Park on July 19–20, showcasing classic cars navigating the challenging city streets.

Barrel & Flow (9 August)

Recognized as the #1 Brew Fest in America, Barrel & Flow Fest celebrates Black arts and brewing culture. Held at The Stacks at 3 Crossings, the festival features exclusive beer collaborations, live music, art installations, and a curated vendor marketplace. 

Little Italy Days (14-17 August)

Bloomfield's Liberty Avenue transforms into a vibrant celebration of Italian heritage during Little Italy Days. The festival offers authentic Italian cuisine, live music across three stages, bocce tournaments, and cultural activities for all ages.

PedalPGH (24 August)

PedalPGH is Pennsylvania's largest one-day bike ride, inviting cyclists of all levels to explore Pittsburgh's diverse neighborhoods and scenic routes. Starting and ending at Allegheny Commons Park, the event offers multiple route options, rest stops, and a finish line festival.

Pittsburgh Irish Festival (5-7 September)

Held at the historic Carrie Blast Furnaces, the Pittsburgh Irish Festival celebrates Irish culture with traditional music, dance, food, and crafts. Attendees can enjoy performances, cultural exhibits, and family-friendly activities throughout the weekend.

Pittsburgh International Jazz Festival (18-21 September)

A premier event for jazz enthusiasts, this festival showcases global talents such as Branford Marsalis and Dee Dee Bridgewater. Highlights include the "Taste of Jazz" party and the exclusive Jazz Train experience.
