The Gambia Experience is thrilled to announce an exciting new partnership with Ascend Airways, bringing key enhancements to its upcoming winter flight programme. With an increased number of flights, a new Saturday service, and flexible travel options, the Hampshire based tour operator is offering customers even more choice for the same great holiday. 

Starting on 4th October 2025, The Gambia Experience’s direct flight service from London Gatwick, will utilise Ascends modern Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft. Known for its fuel efficiency and design, the aircraft will support a 25% increase in the operator’s seat capacity over the winter season—boosting availability to 189 seats per flight, up from 150. 

As the UK’s leading holiday specialist to the West African destination with more than 35 years' experience, the move forms part of the operator’s ongoing commitment to customer experience and responsible travel. Adama Njie, Director of Tourism at Gambia Tourism Board (GTB), welcomed the announcement, saying:

This will not only boost awareness of The Gambia in the UK market but also contribute to employment within the tourism industry and the broader operations of our tourism establishments.
