Jimbaran, April 2025 – On 13 April 2025, InterContinental Bali Resort, in collaboration with Federasi Triathlon Indonesia (FTI), proudly hosted the first-ever InterContinental Jimbaran Bali Aquathlon, a milestone event that adds a thrilling chapter to Bali's growing sports tourism scene.

Set against the stunning backdrop of Sunset Garden and the pristine Jimbaran Beach, the race challenged participants with a 1-kilometer open-water swim in the calm bay, followed by two 3-kilometer run loops winding through the resort's scenic 1.4-kilometer track, featuring tropical gardens and beachfront trails.

The event kicked off at 6:30 AM and was officially flagged off by Ms. Marcella Sapardan, Head of Hospitality Division of Media Group, Mr. Bruno Cristol, General Manager of InterContinental Bali Resort, and the Vice Regent of Badung, I Nyoman Sujendra. A total of 83 athletes took part, including 34 international participants from 12 countries: Australia, Austria, Canada, France, the Netherlands, Russia, New Zealand, the Philippines, South Africa, Switzerland, the UK and the USA.

On the eve of the race, athletes gathered at the resort's Jimbaran Convention Center for a series of pre-race activities including Race Pack Collection, Body Assessment & Sharing Session: “How to Listen to Your Body” by Analgesia Pain Clinic, Coaching Clinic with Andy Wibowo, Indonesia's leading triathlete and Olympian, Press Conference followed with Carbo Loading Session for the athletes.

More than just a test of endurance, the Jimbaran Bali Aquathlon was a vibrant celebration of community spirit, personal wellness and the natural beauty of the Jimbaran coastline, brought to life by the warm and seamless hospitality of InterContinental Bali Resort.

Six outstanding athletes rose to the top in this inaugural race:

• Male Category: Belhgrano Deeyren (Indonesia), Gennadi Kruglov (Russia), and Antonius Ryan (Indonesia)
• Female Category: Jemma Eve (Australia), Casey Alexandra (Canada), and Arifah Marisya (Indonesia)
