London, UK – Nestled in the uplands on the northern edge of the Romney Marsh, just a stone's throw from the historic Saxon Shoreline, Spot House Farm offers an idyllic off-grid camping experience in the heart of the Kent countryside.
Set within enchanting woodland meadow Spot House camping is a bucolic escape that promises a break from the noise and bustle of our day to day lives. Surrounded by Orlestone Forest Nature reserve, guests are cocooned by blankets of wildflowers, leading into the protected ancient woodlands that are home to a plethora of animals. Guests relax under velvet night skies to the sounds of nightingales, in the day butterflies flit through the meadows through skies full of birdsong. Early risers are often treated to deer grazing quietly in the misty meadowlands as the sun rises through the ancient tree line. Spot House Farm Camp is a place for slowing down, taking in nature and enjoying a simpler way of life…for a day or two!
Sleeping ten guests in total, Spot House Farm camping is available on an exclusive basis only, meaning complete privacy and the perfect opportunity for to enjoy time with family and friends. There are four handmade bell tents for guests: one 7m tent which sleeps 4 in a super-king bed and 2 singles, two 5m bell tents each with a kind size bed and one 4m tent which sleeps 2 in single beds.
These beautiful, natural canvas bell tents come with extra comfortable beds dressed in fresh linens, old fashioned washstands and wood burning stoves for those chilly English mornings. Each is individually furnished with a curated selection of vintage pieces, alongside handmade cushions and blankets direct from the host's textile studio – SHEPHERD (visits to the on-farm studio can be arranged).
Outside, three agricultural looking corrugated tin structures are spaced out around the edge of the meadow: an outdoor field kitchen, a long-drop toilet, and a heated, open-air shower nestled under the shade of an ancient oak. These were designed by Gemma and made by her husband, Joel, a master carpenter who has created buildings that blend neatly into the farmland.
The kitchen is well stocked but simple (and as with all good camps sites, the village pub is a short walk through the woodlands!) The kitchen offers a gas stove, a large cool box, enamelware crockery, cutlery, glassware, and all necessary cooking utensils. A sink and tap are conveniently located outside for washing up. Essentials such as oil, salt, pepper, and tea bags are provided, and guests will find a dozen fresh farm eggs and a bag of COLDBLOW coffee (roasted and ground on site) awaiting them in the kitchen.
Dine under the stars with a tripod barbecue, and a table with benches and directors' chairs, perfect for al fresco meal en famile. Days can be spent exploring the woodlands and nature reserve, playing in the meadows and taking time to just be. This is the place to reconnect with nature and enjoy the great English countryside for a few slow days.
Spot House Farm camping is open over the summer months, and come September, as the nights start to draw in, the tents are packed away and the cattle return to the pastures, meaning the camping is extremely low impact.
Whether you're looking for a peaceful retreat, a family adventure, or a memorable getaway with friends, Spot House Farm offers a unique, immersive experience in the heart of rural Kent.
