Wilderluxe Lake Keepit, the new luxury glamping retreat, is set to welcome its first guests from the Easter long weekend in April. Located in a majestic, picture-postcard setting between Tamworth and Gunnedah, this exclusive retreat is nestled above Lake Keepit, surrounded by the Great Dividing Range and rolling countryside to offer a quintessentially Australian escape.

Wilderluxe is a new initiative from Reflections Holidays, Australia's largest outdoor hospitality group and the only one in the country that is a certified social enterprise. Wilderluxe was created to meet the growing demand of travellers seeking outdoor escapes that blend adventure and indulgence. Wilderluxe Lake Keepit marks the debut, with further destinations planned over the next two years in Lennox Head, Eden, Brunswick Heads, and Lake Glenbawn.

An intimate nature retreat

Wilderluxe Lake Keepit has been designed with a small footprint in mind, ensuring that the experience remains intimate for guests and environmentally sustainable. There are only eight luxuriously-appointed Star Tents and a shared Gilay Lounge for guest social and dining experiences, each perched high above the lake providing a spectacular panoramic view of the surrounding countryside and the Great Dividing Range. The experience is that of a country escape that combines the adventure of camping with the elegance of a boutique hotel.

Each Star Tent features plush interiors, a king-sized bed, kitchenette, and a fully enclosed ensuite bathroom. Designed for year-round comfort, each is fully insulated and features a skylight above the bed, perfect for cosy evening stargazing.

There are multiple outdoor balconies off each of the Star Tents, with an outdoor bath on the lake-view deck that takes in the beauty of Lake Keepit, for guests to soak amongst the tranquil surrounds. It's the ultimate indulgence in wild luxury, with the sounds of native birds and the sight of kangaroos and wallabies hopping by to complete the experience.

The sophisticated look of each Star Tent features furniture from Banana Home and RJ Living, soft furnishings by Eadie Lifestyle, outdoor furniture by Kave Home, and Australian-made natural hair and body amenities by Hunter Lab. Emro Designs sourced all artworks from local Kamilaroi artist, Letitia Barty.

Immersive Big Sky Dreaming experience

As part of the Wilderluxe Lake Keepit experience, guests will enjoy the first night's signature Big Sky Dreaming dinner that blends Aboriginal and Western astronomy, as narrated by local Kamilaroi man, Uncle Len Waters. It's an opportunity to learn about the ancient stories of the land while gazing at the night sky, followed by a gourmet shared feast under the stars.

Wilderluxe offers guests the freedom to design their own getaway, with a range of activities to suit every mood. There is something for everyone, from water sports to nature pursuits like hiking and cycling, to cheesemaking, cookery classes, and even the opportunity to take to the skies with scenic flights and gliding in one of Australia's best known sites for cross country soaring.

Guests are encouraged to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and reconnect with the natural world, for a transformative and peaceful escape by the lake, with Lake Keepit two-thirds the size of Sydney Harbour.
