Kynren – The Storied Lands, the UK's first live-action historical theme park, is thrilled to announce the acquisition of the renowned Flambards Victorian Village, ensuring that this extra-ordinary collection remains together and will be brought to life in a spectacular new show at the attraction opening in 2026.
The Victorian Village, a much-loved heritage exhibit from Flambards Theme Park in Cornwall, was at risk of being broken up and sold in individual lots following the park's recent closure. Thanks to Kynren's commitment to authentic historical storytelling, this extraordinary collection will remain intact, providing the setting for a walk-through experience that will transport visitors to the heart of Victorian England.
A Historic Treasure, Reimagined
Originally developed in the late 1970s, the Flambards Victorian Village grew into one of the most detailed period recreations in the UK. Designed to immerse visitors in the world of late 19th century Britain, the village features over 40 sets and scenes with authentic shopfronts and interiors, including a haberdashery, pawn brokers, apothecary, blacksmith, grocers, tobacconist, jewellers, milliner, toy shop, and even a Victorian schoolroom and inn. It also showcases meticulously restored household settings, such as a period kitchen, nursery, and living quarters, capturing the daily life of the era with thousands of genuine artefacts.
Kynren will reimagine the Victorian Village as the backdrop to a dynamic and immersive visitor experience. Visitors will step into the sights, sounds, and stories of Victorian life as they explore its cobbled streets, encountering live-action vignettes that bring history to life in a way only Kynren can.
Anna Warnecke, CEO of Kynren, shared her excitement about the project: “The detail and authenticity of the Flambards Victorian Village make it an incredible foundation for a truly immersive experience at The Storied Lands. We are not simply relocating it; we are transforming it into a vibrant, theatrical journey where visitors will feel as if they have stepped back into the heart of Victorian England. We cannot wait to unveil this spectacular experience as part of our new Park.
