Strengthening presence within the UK and furthering growth with brand partner Radisson Hotel Group, Cycas Hospitality today announced its appointment to manage a hotel within the new landmark Oxford United Football Club stadium.
The new hotel within the 16,000-seat, all-electric stadium near Kidlington, five miles north of Oxford, will feature a range of construction and operational measures to ensure the highest standard of environmental sustainability.
The development, which aims to secure a permanent, sustainable home for the football club alongside long-lasting community benefits, comprises a stadium, conference and exhibition centre for 1,000+ delegates and purpose-built hotel servicing both visitors and local corporate clients.
With proximity to many well-known visitor attractions of the area including the world-famous University of Oxford and Bicester Village, the site's location next to Oxford Parkway rail station ensures visitors will be well served by air, rail and bus transport links including on-site parking. Alongside sustainable travel solutions, the development aims to deliver a long-term commitment to providing social, environmental, and economic benefits to the local community, and features a public garden, plaza, and communal spaces.
The 180-bedroom hotel will offer guests a thoroughly modern design with Radisson's signature Scandinavian influence. The four-storey hotel will comprise standard, family rooms and suites alongside several convertible rooms and suites, offering flexible configuration between bedrooms and meetings/hospitality space to meet the needs of the business across matchdays and corporate peak periods. Guests can also enjoy all-day dining options in the open lobby bar, bistro café and restaurant.
Adam Benson, Chief Commercial and Marketing Officer at Oxford United, said: “We're committed to building an exceptional stadium complex and working with world-class partners will ensure we deliver against that.
“This agreement is part of an ambitious commercial plan we have for the stadium project, one that will allow us to deliver significant benefits to the Club and the wider community.
“We're delighted to be working with Cycas who will ensure everyone who stays at the new Radisson Hotel receives a first-class experience in keeping with the values of the Club and the new stadium.”
Jonathon Clarke, Development Director at Oxford United, added: “Our vision is to deliver a world-class Oxfordshire landmark that everyone can be proud of and this partnership, in conjunction with Radisson, demonstrates the standards we will set.
“Cycas has an excellent track record of providing outstanding guest experiences that deliver investor returns and, as our plans continue to gather pace, we know we have the right team in place to meet our objectives.”
Craig Patterson, Chief Development Officer at Cycas Hospitality, commented: “Myself and the team are incredibly pleased to start 2025 by sharing the latest step in our company's development. Continuing our growth with our partners at Oxford United and Radisson Hotel Group to open this hotel within a thoroughly modern, purpose-built sporting centre and community landmark is just one of our exciting updates for the year ahead, and we can't wait to open the doors of the hotel and stadium to the local community next year.”
The new-build Radisson hotel mark's Cycas Hospitality's first UK-based property under management, joining Radisson Hotel & Suites Amsterdam and the 447-room Radisson Hotel & Suites Zurich within the hospitality management company's European portfolio across 13 countries.

Oxford United Football Club has submitted plans to Cherwell District Council to build a 16,000-capacity stadium on land known as the Triangle, near Kidlington, north of Oxford. The design includes the stadium, 180-room hotel, conference and event space, along with a health and wellbeing centre, to help deliver significant economic and social benefits to Oxfordshire.
The visitor experience, inclusivity and sustainability have been placed at the heart of the design. It would be the first all-electric stadium in the UK and includes a safe standing allocation, sensory room, 130 wheelchair spaces and wellbeing gardens, which will improve biodiversity. Enhanced public transport and active travel routes such as footpath and cycle links will be built with the Club committed to halving carbon emissions by 2030 and achieving net-zero by 2040.
