Koh Rong, Cambodia, 30 August 2025 — The Royal Sands Koh Rong is pleased to announce the successful installation and handover of a clean water system to Sok San Primary School. This initiative underscores the resort's commitment to environmental sustainability by working towards the elimination of plastic bottles on the island.
The implementation of this clean water system was made possible through a dedicated donation fund, which included contributions from resort guests, proceeds from the Royal Sands' Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, and additional funding from the resort itself.
The handover ceremony was graced by notable attendees, including Mr. Mario Piazza, Vice President of the Cambodia Hotel Association and General Manager of The Royal Sands, as well as Mr. Reach Sovan, Governor of Koh Rong. The event was a vibrant community celebration, attended by parents of the students, general managers from other local resorts, and members of the tourism sector.
In addition to providing clean water for the 130 students, the ceremony featured the distribution of new school supplies, further enriching the educational experience at Sok San Primary School.
The Royal Sands Koh Rong remains committed to enhancing the quality of life in the local community and fostering sustainable practices that benefit both residents and visitors.
