Press Release, February 2025: London-based hospitality and lifestyle brand Mason & Fifth announce bookings are now live for its newest offering - Meadow - a creative workspace aimed at local creatives and makers looking to take their craft to the next level. Part of the newest Mason & Fifth offering which is due to open in June 2025, along the Grand Union canal in Westbourne Park.
Meadow marks a first for Mason & Fifth, which has up until now focused on flexible accommodation. The brand is now taking the natural step into flexible workspaces for the creative communities of West London.
Designed for local creators, artists and makers alike, Meadow has been consciously designed with everything members need to be inspired and productive, with natural light flowing from the large windows and plenty of oxygenating plants.
There are two main types of memberships - Workbenches and Workshops. Those looking for a more communal option can choose from daily/weekly/monthly 'Workbench' memberships. This includes a space on one of the large wooden workbenches with ample plug sockets across the site, suited for those working digitally or by hand. For makers looking for a private lockable studio space for a longer term project, there are eight Workshops available, which can be booked for a minimum of three months. The Workshops come in various sizes and are offered as a 'white box' studio solution, which can be kitted out as needed.
Additionally, there are quiet spaces to work, including phone booths and a free-to-use bookable meeting room, comfy breakout areas and a large gallery space to host events and exhibitions. Also included in the membership are high-spec printers, free locker space, bike storage and a post room for receiving with franking and courier services available on request - a much-needed resource for small creative businesses. The space is also dog-friendly for well-behaved pooches who like to come to work with their humans.
Every week there will be a free lunch for all members, as well as daily bean-to-cup coffee, teas, fruit and snacks. Members can also head over to restaurant Canal, in partnership with the team behind Crispin and Bistro Freddie, for locally sourced seasonal menus.
Any members who find themselves working late, can take advantage of the Worker-Bee discounted room rates, and there will be special packages available for those looking for a one-stop-shop for their accommodation and workspace needs.
With the support and guidance of Westminster City Council and their commitments to local cultural enterprises, Mason & Fifth has announced an affordable Meadow membership scheme. The reduced rate is set aside for local creatives, charities and community groups that may not be able to afford the standard booking fees. Bookings and enquiries are now open for all membership types HERE.
One of the first signed up members for the Affordable Membership is Elimu Mas Academy, a registered charity focussed on Carnival Arts, and this year celebrating 45 years of showcasing Caribbean arts at Notting Hill Carnival. Established as a project of Westminster Community Relations Council in 1978, with their original home being on 470 Harrow Road. Having recently lost their latest studio space, Meadow will provide a much-needed space to create costumes in the run-up to this year's festivities, just round the corner from Notting Hill.
Meadow will be located within Mason & Fifth, Westbourne Park - the brand's newest neighbourhood guesthouse, opening in June. This will be its biggest site to date, achieving a BREEAM Outstanding certification for the redevelopment of the historic Taxi House site. The building will also feature 332 flexible studios, The Grounding wellness studio (including gym, pool, class studio and treatment room), a canal-side bar & restaurant concept, as well as a cinema, listening lounge, 10th floor panoramic lounge and a recording studio.
Additionally, a series of well-known and exciting emerging brand partners will feature pop-ups as part of the offering, including STORE STORE and Planet Good Earth, with more to be announced. Mason & Fifth will also launch their own collection of exclusive homeware products created in collaboration with local makers and longtime collaborators, including Colours of Arley, Hoodmor, Goldfinger and Kana - creating a platform for local creatives to sell sustainable, independent goods.
Connecting guests and visitors to local thriving businesses is key to the Mason & Fifth ecosystem. The brand will continue to work collaboratively with local communities to champion Westbourne Park's “local heroes”. Mason and Fifth will welcome Meadow members, guests and locals to experience specially curated events every week, from supper clubs, to live listening lounge sessions, and from sound baths to maker markets. In support of emerging artists, Mason & Fifth are partnering with Dazed Club, the dedicated member's community of leading culture magazine Dazed, to offer an exclusive two-month residency for eight chosen applicants who will be invited to stay at Mason & Fifth and create work at Meadow, culminating in a public exhibition of works.
Mason & Fifth Founder Ben Prevezer says, “We are proud to offer local communities in London a dedicated space to create, work and connect within the Westbourne Park neighbourhood. With a lack of maker spaces like these across our city, we hope to have created a haven for ideas to flourish - that's why we've called it Meadow.”
