The prestigious Michelin Guide Ceremony for Great Britain and Ireland was held at Glasgow's Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum earlier this week – the first time the ceremony has been held outwith England – and saw UNALOME by Graeme Cheevers and Cail Bruich retain their Michelin stars. Location in Glasgow's vibrant west end, both of these restaurants are perfect for diners looking to celebrate a special occasion and will showcase the very best of Glasgow's culinary scene. A must-visit if you're a foodie visiting the city, these spots are not to be missed.
Bib Gourmands
While there were no new stars for Glasgow at the Michelin awards, recent opening Margo and popular Malaysian restaurant, Gaga received Bib Gourmands, Michelin-recommended for their good food at affordable prices. A great alternative if you don't have the budget for UNALOME and Cail Bruich, both Margo and Gaga will give visitors a relaxed but still refined dining experience and are great for groups, making them ideal for friend trips to Glasgow.
Brunch favourites
Glasgow is full of vibrant cafes offering extensive brunch menus that will be sure to set you up for a weekend of sightseeing. In the East End, dog-friendly Mesa in Dennistoun boasts a cult following and serves up baked eggs, pancakes, sandwiches and coffee seven days a week.
In the West End, Partick Duck Club is a favourite with locals and sits in lively Partick – the perfect base from which to explore the city's museums and attractions.
