As winter turns into spring, ski season in the Southwest is far from over. Arizona Snowbowl, Brian Head, and Purgatory Resort offer great deals, soft snow, and festive events. Nearby national parks provide opportunities to explore, while dark sky destinations like Flagstaff and Cedar Breaks offer some of the clearest night skies in the country.

Ski into spring with panoramic views of the Grand Canyon from the Arizona Gondola. After the lifts close, head to Flagstaff, the world's first International Dark Sky City, for night-sky viewing at Lowell Observatory. Top your trip off with a visit to the nearby Grand Canyon.
Arizona Snowbowl is home to the largest beginner terrain in the Southwest. For the 2024-25 season, the resort introduced the Aspen Chairlift, a new fixed-grip quad serving four new beginner trails designed to provide an ideal environment for first-timers to learn and progress.

- Spring Events: March 8-9, Snowchella Music Festival features two days of live music and DJs on the slopes. On April 5, the Cardboard Box Derby invites guests to build a racer out of cardboard and ride it down the mountain.
Brian Head Resort, Southern Utah

With a season that extends well into April, Purgatory Resort delivers bluebird powder days, soft spring snow, and a lively après-ski scene. Just a short drive from the slopes, explore the ancient cliff dwellings of the Ancestral Puebloans at Mesa Verde National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Purgatory Resort is open through April 27, 2025.
