This suburban bakery has a cult following and for good reason! Initially starting life as a humble market stall, where it became famous for its freshly baked cardamom and cinnamon buns, UNDER moved into its current premises in 2020. Specialising in drool-worthy baked goods such as hand-crafted sourdough, sweet buns, and pastries, this bakery is definitely worth a visit.

Described by the New York Times as 'part Brooklyn, part wartime Parisian bakery' this aesthetically pleasing bakery and cafe has long been regarded as one of Canberra's best bakeries. Famous for its delicate pastries, artisanal breads and delicious tarts, it's the perfect spot to savour some of their freshly baked sourdough or rye loaf, followed by a fluffy almond croissant. The cafe also serves an all-day menu and a stellar cup of coffee.

Woden, Fyshwick and Belconnen

Having recently welcomed another outpost in Woden, Three Mills is fast becoming a Canberra institution for delicious artisan breads, pastries and hot baked goods. Famous for their artisan sourdough using house-milled flour, traditional long fermentation techniques and local ingredients, they also offer a delicious selection of hand-rolled pastries from flaky, buttery croissants, danishes and escargots to a variety of quiches, sausage rolls and pies.
