Discover the land that inspired Peter Matthiessen's classic 'The Snow Leopard' or trek through rhododendrons in bloom.

Mark 70 years since the 1955 British Kangchenjunga expedition reached the top of the world's third-tallest peak.

Golden Jubilee: One of the first operators in what is now a popular area in travel, World Expeditions commemorates its 50th anniversary in 2025 with a series of exclusive treks.

As the world's most majestic mountain range, there will always be a reason to plan a trip to the Himalayas, whether you want to immerse yourself in a different culture or to challenge yourself with a remote trek.

Adventure travel specialist World Expeditions chooses below the best new ideas to book a trip in 2025 to Nepal and beyond.

Mark the 70th anniversary of the first ascent of Kangchenjunga, the world's third-highest mountain, with a new trip
The 1955 British Kangchenjunga expedition reached the top of the third tallest peak on the planet for the first time on 25 May 1955. To mark the 70th anniversary of the first ascent, World Expeditions launches a NEW! Sikkim & Kangchenjunga Trek. Setting out from Darjeeling, the trek through the heart of the Sikkim Himalaya offers unrivalled views of Kangchenjunga and tantalising glimpses of Everest.

Discover the land that inspired Peter Matthiessen's classic 'The Snow Leopard'
The NEW! Dolpo Crystal Mountain to Mustang Traverse is an exhilarating trek into the heart of Dolpo. This region inspired Peter Matthiessen's classic 'The Snow Leopard' and Eric Valli's evocative, award-winning film 'Himalaya'. Extending to Tibet and steeped in ancient Buddhist and Bon Po traditions, the trip will bring a deep insight into rich cultural traditions and a complete immersion into the wild and rugged landscapes.

See how climate change is affecting the Great Himalaya Trail
World Expeditions has announced that the 2025 departure of the Great Himalaya Trail will depart two weeks later than it traditionally did since its first run back in 2011. The change is due to recent climate changes that led to snowfall occurring later in the season at higher levels of the Himalayas than in the past. As a result, the snow accumulates but does not freeze due to the higher temperatures, posing a greater risk of avalanches and making the more challenging trails and passes harder to navigate due to heavy snow.

Take the paths less travelled in Ladakh
The NEW! Remote Ladakh - Snia Valley and Lasermo La trek follows secluded trails linking the Nubra and Indus valleys in the Indian Himalayas and crosses one of the most exhilarating traverses over the rugged Ladakh Range. Along the way, you will drive across one of the highest motorable roads in the world, visit no less than six ancient monasteries reflecting deep-seated Tibetan culture and attend the two-day masked dance festival at Phyang Monastery.

Experience Nepal's rhododendrons in bloom on a new trek designed for over 55s
Timed to ensure you experience the magnificent rhododendron flowers in bloom, this introduction to trekking in the Annapurna mountains is specially crafted for those wanting to hike at a slightly slower pace. The trails take you through lush forests and traditional Hindu villages with spectacular mountain views, with overnight accommodation in eco-lodges set in serene locations.

Challenge yourself on one of the world's most demanding—yet exhilarating!—trails
Despite being one of the world's most challenging treks (it is undertaken by only a handful of people each season), the 2025 departure for the Snowman Trek in Bhutan sold out earlier than ever before, so a new date has been added in response to the increased interest. Amid a constant backdrop of 7,000m/23,000ft peaks across the backbone of Bhutan, the four-week trek accesses Lunana, the most remote region of Bhutan, which remains isolated for many months of the year.

Join an exclusive trek to celebrate World Expeditions' 50th anniversary
Trekkers are invited to join one of nine World Expeditions 50th Anniversary Treks that will culminate in an unforgettable banquet dinner with Everest as the backdrop on 24 September 2025. The treks range from 13 to 30 days, offering participants a chance to enjoy some of Himalya's most famous peaks, from Everest to Ama Dablam, including stays at World Expeditions' exclusive Eco-Comfort Camps
