MIAMI, Dec. 19, 2024— FEAL Hospitality, one of Miami's most dynamic restaurant groups led by Co-Founders & Co-Owners/Operators Chef Niven Patel and Mohamed (Mo) Alkassar who are both James Beard Award nominees, today announces the first step towards the national expansion of Ghee Indian Kitchen with a new Wynwood location opening in December 2024.
Located at 63 N.W. 24th Street in Miami, the restaurant brings Chef Patel's modern farm-to-table Indian cuisine to the city's arts-centric Wynwood neighborhood. It debuts Ghee's first-ever cocktail program and kicks off a stellar all-day menu that includes all of the original location's beloved dishes plus new ones.
The new Ghee accommodates 120 guests, with 110 in the dining room and 10 at the bar, with additional seating outdoors. FEAL Hospitality is behind South Florida mainstays that include the original Ghee Indian Kitchen, Erba, NiMo and the newly opened Paya.
Ghee Indian Kitchen redefined Indian dining in South Florida when it opened in Miami's Dadeland neighborhood and went on to earn MICHELIN Bib Gourmand Awards in 2022, 2023 and 2024. The restaurant strives to incorporate fresh produce from Chef Patel's Rancho Patel and has become renowned for its welcoming hospitality and high-energy dining. It enchants both South Asian guests, who seek the authentic flavors of home, as well as locals and visitors seeking a bit of a culinary adventure.
Chef Niven Patel on His Vision for Ghee in Wynwood
“As my first restaurant that my family and I literally built with our own hands, Ghee Indian Kitchen will always have a special place in my heart. We have long viewed it as an extension of our home and we want our guests to feel at home. We are very excited to bring our vision of modern Indian cuisine to Wynwood. We are keeping all the dishes of the original Ghee and adding some exciting new dishes like the mushroom momo and biryani, with the most prominent addition being a kebab section. We start with ultra fresh ingredients, either from my own farm, Rancho Patel, or from trusted purveyors, and pair them with the right spices, which are layered with love and patience. I'm proud that my flavors are bold, balanced and never overpowering. I can't wait to see Ghee Wynwood's dining room filled with guests and see the restaurant as the stepping stone for Ghee's national expansion, with Atlanta on the horizon.”
Mohamed “Mo” Alkassar on the Expansion of Ghee
“Ghee Indian Kitchen is the brand we believe in expanding strategically and proving that authenticity and scalability are not mutually exclusive. Wynwood was the perfect next step, since it is ideally centrally located for many of our guests that make the drive to Dadeland. The arts-centric Wynwood meshes well with the fun, hip vibes that Ghee brings and the focal point of the restaurant is a painting by Matthew Herget that took eight months of near daily love to complete. We are excited to expand our menu's offerings and offer Ghee's first-ever cocktail program. The new space is larger than the original, yet just as intimate and welcoming. The evolution of the look and feel of Ghee couldn't have been executed more perfectly, you feel a warm hug as soon as you step inside.”
The Newest Addition to FEAL Hospitality's Acclaimed Portfolio
The new Ghee is the latest addition to FEAL Hospitality, which the dynamic duo of Chef Patel and Alkassar began conceptualizing in late 2018. Chef Niven is a four-time James Beard Award semi-finalist for “Best Chef: South” and a Food & Wine “Best New Chefs 2020.” Mo is a veteran global operator named a James Beard Award 2023 semi-finalist for “Outstanding Restaurateur.”
The two were recently named to the Observer's 2024 Nightlife & Dining Power List celebrating the industry's most important players across the U.S.
The group has made a name for itself with four acclaimed restaurants that include the original Ghee Indian Kitchen in Dadeland, which earned Eater Miami's “Best Restaurant of the Year.” It is joined by Erba, an upscale Italian restaurant in Coral Gables, Fla., that garnered a place on Esquire's coveted “Best New Restaurants in America 2023” list and was featured on CBS Morning's “The Dish.” It is complemented by NiMo, a coastal Mediterranean concept in Jupiter, Fla., which boasts a beautiful, open-air terrace and a wood-fired oven. Paya, serving island-inspired cuisine, recently opened its doors on Miami's South Beach.
Sustainable, Careful Sourcing from Nearby and Afar
Chef Patel strives to use produce from Rancho Patel, his home in nearby Homestead, Fla. Its ecosystem provides the ability to grow a plethora of fruits, vegetables and herbs. In addition, the kitchen works with fishermen who embrace sustainable fishing techniques and heritage farmers who raise livestock and poultry using humane, eco-friendly practices.
Ghee's Innovative All-Day Menu, Tasting Menu, Hi-Chai and Lunch Tiffins in January

Bespoke Furnishings from India and a Painting Paying Visual Homage
Ghee's interior was designed by Paty Duran of Hybrid Creative in Miami in close collaboration with Alkassar. The design took inspiration from his trip to India with Chef Patel. There the duo manufactured gorgeous handmade furniture including bone inlay tables and shell inlay mirrors.
These complement a color palette dominated by yellow and terracotta, with accents of blue and green. The most striking element is “Abundance II,” a painting of a family of elephants by local artist Matthew Herget. Herget painted “Abundance I” for the Dadeland location featuring a single elephant and this group treatment is a visual homage to the growth of Ghee and FEAL Hospitality overall.
