To mark Native American Heritage month this November, holiday specialists in North America Journeyscape is delighted to unveil a brand new and exclusive journey to discover indigenous American cultures in 2025.
Native America Country is a unique 15-day self-drive adventure that journeys to the heart of Native American culture through tribal lands of the largest and oldest communities of America's spectacular Southwest. Enjoy the company of native American guides throughout – hear stories of their ancestral past, learn their customs and discover their artisanship.
The adventure begins in Phoenix, Arizona, before visiting prehistoric pueblos along the Apache Trail. Stay on the Zuni Reservation to experience Zuni culture first-hand with a full-day cultural experience on their tribal lands. Led by a Zuni guide, learn about a people who refer to themselves as the A: shiwi. Visit the community museum, then take an archaeological tour of ancestral Hawikku and see petroglyphs and pictographs from the ancient Chaco people in the Village of the Great Kivas. Finish the tour with a Zuni artist workshop from a local expert.
Leaving the Zuni Reservation drive to Gallup, one of the USA's last surviving Native American trading posts before exploring Canyon de Chelly and stopping at Window Rock, the Capital of the Navajo Nation. Continue to iconic Monument Valley with a Navajo guide and discover otherworldly Antelope Canyon and Lake Powell. At Lake Powell experience authentic Native American dancing, drumming, singing and storytelling in an evening show organised by of one of the largest and oldest Native American tribes.
The final highlight is the stay on the South Rim of the world-famous Grand Canyon before returning back to Phoenix.
